Do you consider yourself an Introvert?? | |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 9005159 02/09/2012 08:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have heard introverts recharge their own batteries where extroverts need other people to charge them up. When you look at it that way, I am glad I am an introvert because the extroverts sound like psychic vampires. Every Myers Briggs test I have taken over the years says I am an introvert. Yet I have been able to write music, play multiple keyboards and sing in front of audiences, and do recording. These things do not make me that nervous. I can talk to people with psychiatric issues really easy, cuz I work in psych. But put me in a party where everyone is superfical--and I want to leave as soon as possible. |

I notice his patterns of string picking are relatively consistent, but his chord changes mixes things up well. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9948034 He's amazingly talented! Let me go find some of his solo stuff - and guess what - he's an introvert too. He says, an audience of one or two is harder than an audience of 100. Cuz the one or two want to talk to you, whereas the 100 don't. Here's another Turtles can always hide in there shell, but that doesn't mean they have to...))) I think the singing was better in the first video, with the playing a bit better in the second video. First one was quasi-Dylanesque sounding. Hubby ever consider the acoustic?? It is a total riot to finger pick, and the bass has a lot more string clearance. Just the same, he is using about 3 or 4 finger picking variations and I've noticed that most players have their own technique that doesn't vary too much, and that is one's style. Of course there are the Vais and Satrianis, but before too long much of their playing is a 'variation on a theme' too, just at a much higher level of difficulty. After I put him in front of people, an awful thing to do to an introvert, he's uploading other vids - you have to remember he's playing four strings as though it's an orchestra and singing on top - it ain't gonna be perfect - it's live. Edit to add - thanks for the compliments - need to get hubby to read this cuz my eyes are closing (too damned much attention this week) and I have no idea what he's doing Anyway, good folk, I'm worn out. I'll be back tomorrow to gather info - cuz I absolutely know there are good introverts that are making their living in their quiet spaces and I want an interview. |

I can play the game, as I'm not shy at all but, it's like acting a part in a play and I have to get ready to play the part before I step out into the world of people. It's draining because it's not my natural state. Quoting: Da Purple Chicken ^^^^ + 1 Sounds like me. What do you happy hermits do for a living? I'd love to be a hermit, but how can you afford it? |

You get better as you get older I think. I don't think it's a handicap at all. Sure I'd rather be by myself but I do my best to get out and interact. Quoting: Turtle Seems the world is set up, these days, to embrace extrovertism, bordering on exhibitionism, but what of the quiet folk? I can be outgoing and I'm not shy, but I always need that quiet time. Any stories you'd like to share? I'd love to hear of how you've encompassed your natural tendencies to find success. Some say at least 30% of us are introverts, while the world celebrates the extroverts. Would love to hear your stories. The extroverts embrace a world that is passing away. Love not the world, or the things of the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. |
