The status-quo is out of control and cares for nothing other than obtaining more money and power for corporate interests. This mindless growth is at the expense of nothing less than the very eco-system of the planet.

The rest of the populace suffers as disposable slaves make to serve on a poisoned-planet while the elite live in pristine bubbles isolated from the open sores of destruction their resource harvesting has inflicted upon the besieged planet.

Any pretense as to this way of life working is fading quicker than the latest Greek bailout and the stark bleakness of this reality forces many minds to run back to the Matrix. That's understandable, because it's bad, it's worse than we know. But we no longer have the luxury of remaining ignorant to the peril we find ourselves in. We can't hide in the Matrix anymore. We have to wake up, accurately assess the truth of our situation, and then start acting intelligently in the best interests of our species.
