I watched this show the other day and thought wow these preppers are gonna get their shit taken.

I have seen the show before too and that's always something my husband and I talked about -- what about all their neighbors that now know they have stuff? What about... gosh, even though I am jaded & cynical now, I didn't expect it to be this 'public' of a chastising from TPTB.

Sure it was his 'Doctor' but COME ON. Suddenly NOW -- just after his show is on the air?

Thats ridiculous simply being submitted is not a conclusion of being unfit.
Many people get submitted to a mental hospital and cleared and let out.

This is so sad. This guy lived a happy life on his own, not hurting people, just doing what he enjoyed doing. He's NOT suicidal and they take away his happiness to what, protect him? Such fucking bullshit. He seemed so defeated in the video...I wish this kind of shit didn't happen to people...its just crazy. AND! Is suicide illegal? Even if he was suicidal, leave the guy alone!!

I got arrested the other week for someone in my apartment complex shooting a flare gun type, they stormed in 15 deep I was not even apart of the horse play they ran up In boy house while we smoked a blunt asking me where my ak47 was I told themitsnoteven In the city why are you looking for it eventually they let me loose but even before leaving they questioned everybody about where my gun is.. They didn't know I had the gun till now I just think they were primarily focused on my weapon for a reason.

Are there any states that do not have this
provision in their gun laws?

Didn't know it was so easy in the US to not be allowed to own guns.
Simply being admitted to a hospital shouldn't be enough unless the psych found you with a problem.
People get admitted sometimes by mistake and get cleared and let out.

The “mentally defective” can breathe a little easier knowing that you are NOT prohibited from possession a gun or ammunition if your adjudication was set aside or expunged, you were released from mandatory treatment, supervision or monitoring, you no longer “suffer from the disabling mental health condition,” you have been “otherwise rehabilitated” or “adjudication or commitment was based solely on a medical finding without opportunity for hearing by the Federal department or agency with proper jurisdiction.”

To take it off you to disarm you that is their plan they get upset that not only they can have a gun it triggers their psychopath superiority complex.

Its akin to the idea that if you end up going to prison, you need to pick a fight with the biggest a-hole there and beat them to within an inch of their life, so that the rest of the thugs will see and decide not to mess with you.

In this case, you are the 'a-hole' and they are beating you down -- in this way the others will shrug and say -- well, if they beat him, there's no way WE can beat them.

And then they will just give up.

There's also the whole Normalcy Bias thing.

The biggest preppers I know are mormons my mormon inlaws have a bunker, food storage there own spring that runs into there basement a stock pile of guns ammo and tons of cash built into these firesafe vaults in there basement. They would freak if anybody ever found that out and would never go on a show like Doomsday preppers out of fear that the goverment would come in and take away there stuff.

Yep that's it, a show of force.
Because after all they are severely outnumbered.
If the people were organized that is, but of course the people are not allowed to be organized that makes them terrorists.

That's interesting since everyone knows that Mormons are *supposed* to prep because their religion tells them to. :-/

Is it true that you all down in OZ are not allowed firearms? Or is it only handguns you can't have?

The religion tells them to do a normal amount of prep but some go above and beyond. Other than canning days etc it is not widely talked about it is just something that is known.

Thanks for the info. I thought they were instructed to have one year's worth of food on hand, which is more than a 'normal' amount, generally speaking.

Did you not watch the vid This has nothing to do with that show he was saying he seen a doctor about chest pain and that led to suicide conversion so the doctor did his/her job and called it in. Then he talks about it being a joke doing it well he should have kept his mouth shut about running in the hood with a white thing over his face lol

So just because it was his doctor that 'authorized' it, you think that was the whole ball of wax? Not that the show was a catalyst for his Doctor to put him in a psych eval?

I watched the video & couldn't make head or tails out of his story.

Seems like he went to a Dr for cest pains, and when the talk turned to doing invasive diagnostic procedures ("tubes" etc) he old the Dr that he didn't want to live that bad, that he was suicidal anyways. Then the Dr asked him if he had a plan and he said some sarcastic stuff about ways he could kill himself (like run through the projects dressed up in a wgite sheet).

That pretty much meets the criteria for an emergency suicide intervention -- when you want to die and have plans on how to do it. He refused treatment, and got forced into a hospital. The doctor was under a legal obligation to report tto authorities hat this person told him he was suicidal and had a plan, and that he had refused treatment. When he got picked up for a suicide watch and intervention, he didn't cooperate! Then he refused food in the facility.

The law was right on this one, he's classic suicidal depressed apocalypse guy.

Now, if his state decided people with suicide problems shouldn't have guns, that's between him and the people in his state who made that law, not the doctor and judge.

Well that's what make's sense from his side of the story now he could have bragged about being on some TV show to doctor at the time
