Greater generals, and especially greater nations.

Mongolia wasn't even a country, it was a mass of tribes that were constantly warring with each other.
Yet, Ghengis Khan, managed to unite all the tribes under one banner, create the largest empire ever known, go on to be the only nation in history to sucessfully conquire Russia.
Then, in a feat of pure and absolute strength, defeated the, up until that time, the greatest civilization in Euasia. China.
Then he went on to invade europe, and almost conqured it, until Ghengis Khan died.

Then ofcourse his children, not only kept the empire alive, but epanded it even more.

Ghengis Khan ( his name meaning Universal ruler) > Alexanderthe Great

Not only was Ghengis Khan, from birth believed to grow up into a ruler above all rulers. But he did so, in a area, that wasn't even united.
Even macedonia was more powerful than the seperate tribes of mongolia.

Course, not even Ghengis Khan was God.
