" ... FlyersRights.org asks why the TSA continues to mislead the public about the efficacy of body scanners in detecting devices like the one reported to have been used in the most recent plot foiled just two weeks ago in Yemen.

The bomb, a refined version of the so-called underwear bomb used by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab in his Christmas Day 2009 attempt to blow up Northwest Airlines Flight 253, is now at the FBI crime laboratories in Quantico, Virginia.

"The salient question is whether or not the body scanners would have detected an underpants bomb; and the answer is, 'No'," said Kate Hanni, Founder and Executive Director of FlyersRights.org.

"If the scanners could have detected these low density explosives inside underpants, the TSA would be able to demonstrate this to the public, but they haven't done it. Either they haven't tested the equipment for this type of bomb, or if they have, they don't want us to know the results."

Noting that, after a recent intelligence briefing, Senator Dianne Feinstein reported that the device would have been "undetectable," Hanni continued, "Undetectable means just that. Azerbaijan , Baku, Sept. 28/Trend D.Khatinoglu/

Russia returned to Iran a prepayment that it received for S-300 surface-to-air missile systems , IRNA reported quoting Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi as saying.

Vahidi stated that the country also demands Russia to pay compensation due to the fact that it refused to deliver S-300 missiles to Iran.

Iran has appealed to the International Court of Arbitration over Russia's refusal to implement a contract for the supply of the S-300 systems to Iran in early September.

Rosoboronexport has turned out in a biggest financial loss over the last four years after returning a $167 million in prepayment to Iran for unfulfilled supply of S-300 air defense missile systems, Rosoboronexport Head Anatoliy Isaikin said in an interview with Kommersant Daily on Sept.22.

"The unrealized delivery of S-300 to Iran has been the largest financial loss for our company [since the beginning of his leadership in 2007]," Isaikin said. "We owed Tehran the prepayment of $167 million."

In June 2010, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1929, imposing restrictions on the supply to Iran of conventional weapons, including missiles and missile systems , tanks, attack helicopters, warplanes and ships ... More ....

Radioactive cesium exceeding the safety limit of 100 becquerels/kg was detected from one of 6 pigs shipped from a pig farm in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture.

TEPCO: 900,000 Terabecquerels (Iodine Equivalence) Released into the Air from #Fukushima I Nuke Plant in March 2011


TEPCO has come up with the latest estimate of the radioactive materials released from Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant, and it is higher than everyone else's, at 900,000 terabequerels (iodine-131 equivalence) for the month of March, 2011.

Iodine 131: 500,000 terabequerels
Cesium 134: 10,000 terabecquerels
Cesium 137: 10,000 terabequerels

To conform to the INES, TEPCO multiplied the amount of cesium 137 by 40 to get the iodine equivalence (10,000 x 40 = 400,000). However, TEPCO did not use cesium-134 so that the total number could be compared with the numbers from other institutions. .... " ... more ...

Israel's hawkish prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have been pushing for pre-emptive strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities for some time.

According to a recent survey, a record 49.1 million Americans (16 percent) are living below the federal poverty line. Considering the U.S. is one of the richest nations in the world, the results are sobering.


A family of four earning less than $23,050 per year is considered living in poverty.


According to the Salvation Army’s "Perceptions of Poverty" survey, 38 percent of Americans report receiving some form of charitable assistance, including food from food banks or financial assistance/housing support; 63 percent who earn less than $25,000 per year report receiving assistance; and among Americans aging 35 to 54, 46 percent report having received assistance at some point in their lifetimes.


Thirteen percent of Americans report having spent a night in a shelter or on the street due to loss of housing and 26 percent who earn less than $25,000 per year report sleeping in a shelter or on the street.


The survey found that most Americans believe a helping hand is needed to escape poverty, but there is a significant minority with a definite animus toward the poor : They are poor because they are lazy; they have lower moral values; the poor will take advantage if given more assistance; and the poor just need a good work ethic to escape poverty, etc.

It follows, then, that the further one is away from poverty, the less likely that he or she accepts the reality of poverty ." ..... more ...

Method to Delay Aging of Stem Cells Developed

TEHRAN (FNA)- Findings of a news study uncovered a series of biological events that implicate the stem cells' surroundings, known as their "niche," as the culprit in loss of stem cells due to aging.



Stem cells are essential building blocks for all organisms, from plants to humans. They can divide and renew themselves throughout life, differentiating into the specialized tissues needed during development, as well as cells necessary to repair adult tissue.

Therefore, they can be considered immortal, in that they recreate themselves and regenerate tissues throughout a person's lifetime, but that doesn't mean they don't age. They do, gradually losing their ability to effectively maintain tissues and organs.

The researchers' findings at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies are published May 23rd in Nature and have implications for treatment of age-related diseases and for the effectiveness of regenerative medicine.

Dr. Satoshi Mori of Tokyo University has a radioautograph of Japanese cypress leaves that he took from Iitate-mura in Fukushima Prefecture last year in his blog. He says he cannot help feeling pity for the tree :

Still, as I pressed the leaves and took the radioautograph, I couldn't help feeling pity for the Japanese cypress that was doused everywhere on the leaves and rachis with radioactivity. This image of irradiation may speak more volumes than the mere numerical information ....

Stanford Researchers Found Radioactive Cesium of #Fukushima Origin in Pacific Bluefin Tuna Off California Coast

The researchers from Stanford University, California caught 15 tuna fish off the coast of southern California last August and measured radioactive cesium-134 and 137.
9 months later, it is in the news now that their research paper has finally been published in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Neither the Wall Street Journal article below, or Reuters', mentions the exact numbers for radioactive cesium, but Japan's Kyodo News does:

Cesium-134: 4 Bq/kg
Cesium-137: 6.3 Bq/kg

The Stanford researchers think the fish were in the Japanese water about a month after the accident started. Daniel Madigan, who led the study, said they were surprised to find cesium at all, and that it was found in all samples they collected and tested. .... more ...

Any recent visitor to Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Muscat (Oman), Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait saw clear evidence that the U.S. priority on defense spending over several decades has relegated many parts of the civilian infrastructure to Third World status.

After a spectacular victory in the Cold War, the United States blew a good chance for a new world economic and military order by inviting the newly freed Russia into NATO, rather than pushing NATO's frontiers up against Russia's and reviving old fears of encirclement.

This was first suggested by Cold War hawks -- e.g., the late Fred Ikle, undersecretary for Defense Policy under the Reagan administration - but it was too far sighted to be digestible inside the Beltway.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Computer technicians battling to contain a complex virus last month resorted to the ultimate firewall measures — cutting off Internet links to Iran's Oil Ministry, rigs and the hub for nearly all the country's crude exports.

At the time, Iranian officials described it as a data-siphoning blitz on key oil networks.

On Wednesday, they gave it a name: A strike by the powerful "Flame" malware that experts this week have called a new and highly sophisticated program capable of hauling away computer files and even listening in on computer users.
Its origins remain a mystery, but international suspicion quickly fell on Israel opening another front in its suspected covert wars with archenemy Tehran.

"This virus penetrated some fields. One of them was the oil sector," said Gholam Reza Jalali, who heads an Iranian military unit in charge of fighting sabotage. "Fortunately, we detected and controlled this single incident."

The Flame virus — a mix of cyberspy and hard-drive burglar — has been detected across the Middle East recently. But Iran's linkage to the oil network attack in April could mark its first major infiltration and suggests a significant escalation in attempts to disrupt Iran's key commercial and nuclear sites. Iran is one of the world's leading oil producers.

Two years ago, a virus called Stuxnet tailored to disrupt Iran's nuclear centrifuges caused some setbacks within its uranium enrichment labs and infected an estimated 16,000 computers, Iranian officials say. At least two other smaller viruses have been detected in nuclear and industrial centers.

Around 12,000 troops from more than 19 nations are wrapping up a massive military training drill in the Middle East. But for some of those servicemen, these exercises might be just the beginning of something much bigger to come.

The United States, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan are just a sampling of the many countries — along with European allies — that have been involved in the nearly month-long Eager Lion 2012 exercise expected to end this week.


Although much of the drills have been kept under wraps, it isn’t a secret that these states have spent the last month cooperating together through mock combat drills and comprehensive training.
Some sources overseas report, however, that as many as 3,000 troops aligned with US forces have conducted a simulated landing and attack on Iran, preparing America and its allies for a war that becomes more likely by the day.

Intelligence sources speaking to Israel’s Debka news agency report that US troops and other forces aligned with America recently staged a landing on a Jordanian beach that was immediately followed by a military seizure of fortified mountain bases and command posts.

The exercise was meant to emulate an attack on Iran and accompanies other drills that witnesses say show off just what America’s foes face if they continue to put the heat on the United States and its pals abroad. .... more ... " .

If you accept that you are what you eat than it's easy to acknowaldge that you behave and are directly and unseparatable of what your DNA is . Period .

Mystery Iranian deaths amid shadow war
