How many called their Congressmen/women on the NDAA? It didn't stop that act from being signed into law after Congress voted YEA. There are no more civil rights or Constitution. The USA is now a battlefield. There is now a Super Congress. Limited members of Congress can push through laws. Where you been? Makes me wonder if that is the way the police think also and that is why they are appearing to be trigger happy. There has been a lot of police shootings that are out of control lately. Seems to be more than usual or I am just now noticing. Are they taking on a kill or be killed attitude. Also, many small towns that don't require a specific education for their policemen could be hiring vets with post-traumatic stress that has gone undetected. |

You think the gangs and thugs are better? In every instance I have been involved in where the police were called, everyone involved ended up wishing they weren't involved. It will penetrate doors and glass like they aren't even there. Shot in the leg, a perp would probably bleed out before the paramedic squad arrived. Also...you should know...a moving vehicle is a very dangerous weapon and can be considered deadly even if moving at a very slow pace. So now, you're not only disobeying a police officer and eluding arrest...you're also opeating a 4,000 lb weapon now and now the officer claims you have partially trapped him because of your illegal and disrespectful activity. The only person that did anything right here...is the cop! But if what has been said holds up, I do not see the cops actions as 'reasonable and pruddent.' I served on a police inquiry board into a police shooting in which a driver fled, was pursued by a cop. The chase went across state lines and the driver abandoned the car and attempted to flee on-foot. The cop shot him in the back of the leg. The man survived with no permanent injuries. He was charged and convicted of several crimes including armed robbery (which led him to flee and be chased by the officer). The officer was removed from duty and resigned before the board completed their inquiry. Privately, the board found the officer did not act appropriately. The report was never formally finalized to help limit the liability of the city -- the city ended up paying out 250K in a settlement. In this case, I would prefer that the woman drives off and the cop pursues... the woman drives off and they go pick her up at her home later... worst case, the cop shoots out her tires or puts a few slugs in her engine and gets fired for being a dick -- but no one dies as a result. The officer is covering his/her ass (CYA) in case you do have a weapon. That officer would like to survive another day to be with their family too. A traffic stop is a very dangerous part of the job. |

If enough people draw attention and call the Mayor's office, the District Attorney's office and the FBI for possible civil right violations, then it can not be swept under the proverbial rug. There is a serious problem here that should make people awfully concern because it can happen to any law abiding citizen. Imagine your love ones, friends, relatives or even a child that could have been in the vehicle. Other eyes need to be on this. It needs to come from the Feds as the police will stall to 'circle the wagons'. I have seen it too many times. This particular situation has me quite concern for me to be quite outspoken on the issue. I would not want anyone firing upon me for ANY reason, neither friendly fire or public outcry. There ARE good police officers who just can not speak up due to the code of silence. They will be ostracized (blackballed). Someone has to care. It has to start somewhere with someone OR the public needs to quit whining and bitching when it happens. |

If a cop sees you watching children, all alone with no child, he has the obligation to question you...looking to kidnap one? Bottom line is she shouldn't have rowed up the window and sped off. Buchele says it didn't happen that way. He describes an encounter which looked and sounded like the officer shooting a person a point blank range, not because he feared for his life, but because the woman did not obey his order to stop rolling up the window. "He was right next to the vehicle. He had one hand on the door handle and one hand on his weapon. And she was rolling the window up. And they were exiting out of the parkng lot. The window was half way up he said 'stop or I'll shoot.' I really didn't think he was going to do it. But she got the window all the way up and that's when he shot. And then she took a left out of the parking lot here and he stepped out in the street and fired five more times," said Buchele. Buchele says the officer was not dragged and that he shot her before she drove away. He says he didn't have his arm caught because the officer's left hand was on the door handle and right hand was holding a weapon.
