...than a regular Joe who did not go into the military? Now I'm not anti military, I appreciate the service, when needed. What I do not agree with is all the laws/bills being passed that gives employers incentives to hirer ex mil. What makes a mil member any better than another person? So, one person decided to go into the mil, another decides to go to college and be an engineer, or doctor, another decides to get a skill and only goes as far as high school... no one is better than the other, they each have unique skills that should be the main focus to employers NOT WHO OR WHAT YOU ARE OR WERE!!!! Pisses me off!!!!!!

Some good points.. and this is still after all the so called minorities are hired first, you know they're always first one the list, and now next on the list, it's the military.. Guess there's no more room for any regular average all American Joes.. they're on the extinction list, like the country they used to live in..

That and all the benefits that vets get. I never understood that either. You have a Vet that can get disability for PTSD, lost limb (which sucks), etc. but you got some poor bastard who worked his whole life in a steel mill, or foundry, construction, etc. and they get sick from heavy metal poisoning, missing digits, etc. (on par with mil) and they don't get anything. Maybe SSI if they are lucky...

Depends on what their job was while they're in. For example, I was a Nuclear Electrician in the Navy on a nuclear submarine during my time in. With no degree, I was picked for a powerplant operator position because not only did I have 6 years of hands on experience of a nuclear propulsion plant, they knew due to my training, I could learn anything and was already familiar with some of their equipment.

Well that seems like a specialized field. I was talking general type, perhaps non specialized employment...

Don't beleive the op is talking about specialized jobs, or the best experienced being hired, thats the way it should be...besides it's all a bunch of BS to start with, a little tax incentive (saving) is not going to get anyone hiring any certain groups or not, The only thing that does this is making a profit.. and 0bama don't beleive in making profits..
but work will make you free..
