Don't be a Pussy, Go up and Talk to the owners.

if one of my neighbors poisoned my dog they "might" wake up in the middle of the night to find their home ablaze and all the exits blocked. devil6

I work shift-work and have just moved into a new area, problem is that the neighbours have a dog (unbeknownst to me when I moved in) which barks late at night. Last night it woke me up every half an hour from 11pm till 6am ALL NIGHT. These people look like low-income dumshits and don't seem to care that their bloody dog is barking all damn night.
Any creative ideas on how to shut the !%$!^%ing thing up?

Re: What's the best way to stop a neighbours dog from barking? rat poison?
How ridiculous! This guy is supposed to sit up all night whistling at the dog? Because some MF'ing retards are too rude and selfish to bring the noisemaker indoors at a decent hour? Oh, and then he's supposed to "man up" and go talk to these stupid, rude MF'ers and yeah, they can work something out that way. Because retards that leave barking dogs in their yard all night are very reasonable and good neighbors. You talk to them, now they know YOU have the issue with the dog and YOU are suspect #1 if you have to deal with it the hard way.

And then all these dog lovers saying "if you did that to my dog, your house would be on fire...". Blah, blah, blah. If you leave your fucking dog outside barking all fucking night, it is on YOU, YOUR fault if sleep-deprived neighbors decide to deal with it. You don't want you barking dog poisoned or shot with arrows, then bring that fucker in at night!!! Otherwise, all bets are off and it's your own GD fault!

OP, nothing is too extreme to deal with this. I would not talk to them or call the police. Lowlifes that would leave a barking dog out all night will hold a grudge if you call the cops and it could turn into an ugly mess. I'd set the dog loose, he's obviously miserable and may run away and never come back, or get tragically struck by a car or something. If he's back barking the next night, it's mystery meat time. Retards like this shouldn't have animals to begin with.

I wonder how a dog would react if you went to a sporting good's store and got some wolf urine or bear urine? That might make the dog think a predetor is in the yard. Maybe it will be scared to bark. Either that, or it will be interested in sniffing and sniffing the spot and maybe it won't want to bark if it is sniffing.

I'm thinking that will make the barking worse if they sense a predator

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10819275

Wow OP.....you really think the dog is purposely barking just to annoy you? You sound ignorant and paranoid ifyou think the dog has a conspiracy going just to annoy you. Might I suggest seeing a mental health professional to get a psych evaluation? They have medication for people who think dogs are out to annoy them personally. I doubt the doggie thinks your important anyway.....sounds like an ego problem as well.

Go tell the dogs owners that thier pooch is deliberately trying to annoy with its barking....I bet they will laugh in your face and give you a reality check that their dog is not conspiring to annoy you deliberately....does the dog talk to you as well like the son of Sam back in the day or what?

I do agree if people leave their barking animal out all night and they at least know its annoying other people and making them lose sleep, they are asking for it when a sleep deprived neighbor has finally had it. Though not suggesting you kill the dog, op, please don't.

Re: What's the best way to stop a neighbours dog from barking? rat poison?
I feel for you bro. I've been there, but not nearly as bad as your circumstances.

I bought a home and did not know about the tiny little dog behind my property.

I have a dog.

The problem is, people leave there dogs outside all day because they clearly don't want it anymore.

My dog goes outside to poop and pee and comes back in to hang out as a family member.

The dog behind me, is a yappy small dog, which they leave out because they seem to forget they let it out in the first place. It almost immediately starts barking at nothing until owner tries to call it in.

Put thier animal to sleep in a noble way. They obviously do not want it if they ignore it and leave it outside for any more reason then it has to.

Law of nature...humans trump animals. The animal owners are not attached to this dog as they shun him from their home. And the dog has a shitty life being neglected. Seems to me that putting him down would be a merciful, kind thing. Neglectful POS's are rid of the problem they don't want to begin with and OP can sleep.

There are so many evil people on this thread. No wonder this world is the way it is. Repent, or be cursed, mark my word.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32141832

"Be cursed" for tossing piss on a barking dog? Holy crap, this person has to sleep. Shift work is hard on a person, I did it when I was young.

What if it kept your children awake all night? Or your your sick and dying mother? Things might look a little different at that point.

Maybe this person is older and lives next to some reprobates and fears confrontation or retribution for calling the law or asking they keep their beast quiet?

You sound like the crazy lady that walks her dog on my street and doesn't pick up after her dog when it poops in others yards. After being polite and asking her to pick up the poop in my yard, so my kids don't track it in, she flies off the handle. Only by rubbing on her face does she avoid my side of the street.

It's the owners fault, not the animal. If a baby is constantly crying, and keeping you up at night, I guess you're the kind to go pee on it or give it rat poison.
