What's the best way to stop a neighbours dog from barking? rat poison?

I feel for you...we used to have a neighbor who's dog would bark all night while the neighbor was gone. I called the police but soon as the police would pull up, the dog would stop...then bark again when they left. You have to leave a notice on the door. Document everything with official looking notices. FIRST NOTICE: Make your first notice short and to the point-friendly cause they may not realize it bothers you. SECOND NOTICE: Make a youtube video documenting their barking dog with time as evidence and that they are breaking the law and further action will be taken with the youtube video as evidence to the police. Try to give them the benefit of the doubt because you don't want neighbors who will get offended and allow it to continue to be mean.

I have the same problem if I just step one toe outside my backdoor the dog next to me barks forever.It seems the former owner of my house would go to the fence and "rub its nose" as my neighbors have told me. I called the police twice and even talked to the people who own the house. the dog still barks.what can I say how long can a dog live anyway?I think we have met a compromise because now if I an in my yard the owner will put the dog inside .....ONLY AFTER IT BARKS FOR 20 MIN! rat poison doesn't work because kibbles are a serious natural anti-venom.

There are anti dog barking that emit a sound that bothers dogs, but that human can't hear, whenever a dog barks.

Just buy one and aim it at your neighbors backyard. I knew someone that did this and it worked.

I have 3 acres and have 13 dogs adjacent to my property. Many times dogs are left out all day and day and, worse yet, left out while the rude neighbors aren't even home. UGH!!!! SO Frustrating and unfair. It is generally a bad idea to talk to them about it - they will be embarrassed or angry and think you are crazy. I have tried every dog bark controller on the market (not kidding!) short of strapping zapper collars to the offending animals. I have to say if you did such a thing to any of my animals i would sneak into your house at night and gut you like a fucking fish, Just go around and tell them your sick of not being able to sleep and if it keeps going on your going to call the authorities about their pet making excess noise during the night, If they are douches about it then be a man and kick the guys ass im sure he will listen then, But under no circumstances harm the dog it's not his fault he has asshole owners that won't take him for walks so he has so much pent up excess energy.

Not sure where you can get it but they are out there. A device that sends out sound frequencies. There is a frequency that humans cannot hear but dogs can. Turn that up and it will hurt the dogs ears and they will run and hide. works real well as I had a device I used when I worked and dogs would run from it

I work at night on a rotating shift and had issues with my neighbor so I started coming home at 6:00 am and immediately mowing the yard on my tractor. We were soon able to come to an understanding.

There is probably a solution that doesn't require you to poison yourself.
Throw him a cheap hotdog then when he barks it means somebody is sneaking up you.

you can take the animals life by shooting it with a crossbow or archers bow. may want one made for fishing so you can retrieve the arrow easier. drill and glue a golf ball to the front so it becomes a blunt object. the arrow will not pierce. You will now kill the animal with blunt force trauma/internal bleeding. There will be no obvious evidence.

I seen this done with cats on a milking farm. The animal rights bullshit can bring major fines. the farmers had to result to their own methods. The felines would eat foul animals mice/rats and die in hay stacks causing bochelism(sp?) wich kills animals.

this methos is messed up but effective.

Maybe you can turn this from negative to positive and rely on the dog's barks to alert you to anyone trying to burgle your home.

If not, then buy some earplugs.

Talk to it with a dog whistle.

There are no such thing as bad pets, only bad owners. These people are obviously selfish fucks and talking to them won't do you any good.

I'd just get some plugs, use white noise or call the cops(not sure what your laws are, tho).

Less than $10 inc post and shipping should solve your problem. You need a dog discipline whistle.
