I must ask why only USGS quakes? For example, quakes registered on [link to hisz.rsoe.hu] tend to be more reliable (usually) as far as magnitude go. For example, the two CA quakes from this morning are still up as two separate quakes on that site, as opposed to the one USGS is showing. Considering that the USGS is unscrupulous with its quake deletion, I would think that you'd want to include other, reputable sources. Just a thought, not trying to start anything :) BTW, I agree that it may be a good idea to have the larger quakes in one thread, easier to keep track of!

I just read that the earthquake under reactor one was a vertical earthquake. Are they rare? I haven't heard of it ?

There are places the USGS does not track.

Also the USGS downgrades the level often. A 6 changes to a 5.9..... like that.

Dutch says 7.3?

I understand that, which is why I wondered why you only wanted to use USGS info, per your post. Regardless, I agree with you that they are too quick to downgrade & even all-out delete quakes.

After the Hit here in Tokyo the Hits come in in a very short Time,
i checked IRIS after the Eq in the North of Japan
and it was just a single Red Circle
and now it look like the last Year after the big One!

I think South- or North America could be the Center for a big One!
