One thing the "Doomsday Preppers" forget is
They can be all be defeated by:

Running out of prescription meds, you can only get about a 90 day supply legally..

Waste removal, causing toxins

Air purification, could be smoked out and burned out

RPG would take most of them out

Most important thing not covered (nat/geo will not ask):
Will they fire on authority? or give up to them when asked?
I have been on GLP long time. I'm old and young.. .

I saw some of it last night and i cant imagine this government not hunting them down real quick-like and providing transportation to a nearby FEMA CAMP.

Why would they make it known they have all this stuff? Hell, i'd keep quiet about it...No amount of money would place me in front of the cameras...if the FBI or CIA runs an investigation...they are screwed.

Besides, that is no guarantee they will survive...

Yes, true. And hotties will be desperate for tampons, so stock up on lots of those and barter them for some action from the hotties. Also rubbers and lube, very key in this scenario. Preppers will get the most sex, even if they are total dorks right now.

Re: One thing the "Doomsday Preppers" forget is
These are great questions that seem to get glazed over by these reality TV shows.
I haven't checked this show out yet, but my boyfriend is all about it right now. We both got real into that show "The Colony" during it's first season, second season was too stupid...I guess the producers were looking for cheap drama, I was in it for the strategy. I know what not to do after that show, and a warehouse would be a great home, we happen to have lots of those around here.
The one guy from Dual Survival (not weirdo Cody) has a great web channel where he demonstrates all kinds of shit that is extremely useful; from homemade traps to reusing spent shells. I highly recommend it as I believe that eventually, we're going to end up living in the woods sooner rather than later.

I believe the prevailing thought is there will be no 'authority'. Just roving bands of hoodlums until some sort of medievil feudal system grows.

A modern era Dark Age.

2. Waste pits

3. Not likely

4. Who has RPG's?

5. Revolutionary War answered that.

What if you stockpile stuff and are hit by a natural disaster? If you have to leave your home....how much can you take with you. Remember.....gas may not be available....so what can you carry on foot....a bike....a donkey? I don't see a reason to stockpile more than you can carry. hf

If a pandemic of a nasty strain of N1H5 were to take hold across the US. I'd just lock the gate and stay home.

That's one good reason to stockpile. Not just TEOTWAWKI. I am certain there are others.

every time the missus goes shopping, she's picking up a few packs of painkillers. we've got quite a stock now. she's also picking up cheap noodles, a few at a time.

painkillers are gonna be like gold dust post shtf, along with cigarettes, but i can't afford to build a stock of them up at the moment.

I liked The Colony also but Season 2 wasn't as trying as season 1. I will have to check out the web channel for Dave that you suggest. I like both Dave and Cody(although I couldn't go barefooted like he does) and I learn alot watching them. Doomsday Preppers has alot of idiots on it. How stupid is it to show the world what you have! I mean really.

if your not masonic chances are your in trouble, skull and bones 322 is for real.500,000,000suvivors.And thats worldwide.we are all watched on here and even this thread is probably to out a few more preppers. There will be the masonic elite and then those that follow out of fear like the millitary. If your a prepper dont let on where you intend to go,and dump all your mobiles as its important they dont lock onto you once you leave home.
If that sounds like paranoia there was a thread asking if people are being monitored on godlike and the shills started ball rolling will comments like "dont talk wet your unimportant" and the like but then a few truthfull examples were posted about being watched 100%,and hey presto the post disapeared ,shock.

There's a place in Ecuador I'd rather just move to with a backpack before I'd stock up in the U.S.

It's better to be in a place that grows its own food and has marketplaces FULL of fresh food that is brought there by the locals.

Get it? Power grid goes down, those markets will still be open. I'd rather be in a third world country -- they're used to brownouts and bad water supplies.

Be careful, the locals might mistake you for food otherwise known as a meal ticket. This is the case already.

I agree with you 99%! It's good to have a stock but it's better to know indigenous plants, local water sources and purification methods, and know how to trap small game. If you master those, then you really have no worries.
But having stored items for a few weeks supply is a good thing to have if nothing more than a morale builder.
