Anonymous Coward User ID: 1184940 United States 02/18/2012 08:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You're welcome. I predict this album will hit #1 on the Billboard chart in a couple of weeks if not sooner. This is much better than most fans and non-fans expected. I agree it's borderline genius to be able to put out an album like this after all of these years of David Lee Roth not being a part of the band. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 5979873 Canada 02/18/2012 10:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I grew up a huge Van Halen fan. I've worked in the industry for years and years and met many "stars". I played the drums for over 20 years, and toured all over the place to standing ovations regularly. Needless to say, I know what's good and what isn't. I seen Van Halen on the 1984 tour so i could hear Hot For The teacher live. Out of over 100 shows I've seen, from Kiss, to Maiden, to Ac/Dc all the way to Kenny Rogers, Michelle Wright, Lori Morgan, and even Ice capades....Van Halen was BY FAR, the WORST thing I've ever heard or seen. nothing but ego stroking and a craptastic stage presence. And now "tattoo" does really nothing but show how much older and slower they are. Why not do something like Atomic Punk, or Everybody Wants Some? They need to pack it in, especially since little wolfgang is not a replacement for Michael Anthony. 3/4 of the group, old and tired, and trying to be commercial for radio play. Time to pack it in guys. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1850452 Probably just youngsters who want some more of that hip hop stuff, rap and modern band stuff, they are too cool to admit they like old bands. Some won't even try them out. I'm with you on this one. A nice surprise. |

Big river for example was Big Trouble written BEFORE the first album. Download Big Trouble if you get the chance. The vibe is kick ass. This was back in the day when Eddie was young, unknown and hungry. Now it seems he no longer gives a shit. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1850452 It's hateful and fucked up to dislike a crappy album by a band that should have retired a long time ago? Wow - you need to clean the sand out of your vagina. Now I get it. A Justin Bieber fan. Wrong again, but whatever helps un-knot your shorts. Maybe you are just too young to have seen the real Van Halen, which is not the same as the watered down grey haired version. Gotta ask, seeing as you are obviously of the same generation. Have you stopped doing whatever it is you love? Didn't think so, so why should they. Rock on boys. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1850452 I dunno, I'm not hearing any of the old rolling menace and no powerful guitar riffs like on Unchained, Dancing in the Streets, Running with the Devil, and so on. I liked bluesy numbers of theirs like Take Your Whiskey Home, too, but these previews aren't really working for me. Van Halen died a premature death when Eddie kicked Diamond Dave out of the band years ago. Could be over for them but I'll give this new album another chance. |

Some of VH's more memorable songs came out of the Hagar years. I'm not sure why people don't give Sammy credit where it's due. That being said, the new VH album kinda bridges the gap after such a long hiatus. If u listen to the songs a couple of times or even a few I think you'll realize how good the music is. It takes a while to clear your mind from the garbage top 40 stuff they're trying pass off as music. |

A Different Kind of Truth is a remarkable return to the band's good old days. The David Lee Roth-led Van Halen has always had a lot of swing in their sound and it's back on this album on songs like "She's the Woman," the supercharged swing of "Honeybabysweetiedoll," and the "Ice Cream Man" throwback "Stay Frosty." There are also plenty of fret-melting guitar romps like "Bullethead," and "Outta Space," where Eddie Van Halen proves he still has the chops of a guitar legend. "As Is," the heaviest track on the album has Wolfgang Van Halen's bass out front a bit more, and the Van Halen boys sound near telepathic in their tightness...." |

Hopefully, I will get to see them again and remember some of those good old days. |

David Lee Roth sounds fuc&ing 1,000,000% better live than he does on the new album. This is insanity. Why would he save himself for he live shows vs. the album?? Hmm... Sorry. Didn't mean to step on any toes. I didn't think there was a problem embedding the youtube video here. Damn, does VH sound unbelievable. |

The same vibe, since they are basically the same musicians. I had the opportunity to listen for the last two days the newest VH release and I have been really enjoying it. It is fresh and have the same vibe they had years ago. After all this years, it seems to me that they just start it where they left it. They still sound great. I wasn't aware how much I miss VH with DLR. |
