Police officer in Ariz. shooting has shot 6 others

I know you have no intention of factoring in context, but it IS possible that a trigger-happy cop with 6 prior shootings under his belt killed a man in cold blood, with no investigation and no due process of law.

If the neighbor was in real danger, they wouldn't have been able to call the cops

The only danger the baby was ever in was when predatory aggressors with badges had guns pointed at it

Not in every state. In the great conservative state of Wisconsin if your neighbor comes on to your property and threatens you and after telling them to leave you get in a confrontation and blood is drawn, even yours, both parties go to jail. This happened to me. My neighbor threatened me and my 80 yr old mother, told her he was glad her husband (my Dad) was dead and he was going to kill me because he found a tomato in his yard (field grass) and burn down our house with my Mother in it. When he told my mother to "Fuck off old lady" I lost it. The police came and off we both went because he had a cut lip and some loose teeth. He was trespassing, made threats, tried to scare my dog by walking around firing his .45 at the ground and confusing the hell out of me at what started the whole debacle. But because he had some blood in his mouth, I had to go to jail then later booked and released and the charges were dropped. Against both of us.

Worrying times in America..

I don't know about this. The killer ether mentaly ill or past madness in his dedication to serve and protect. Call it hazards of the job that he had to kill...1 kill 2nd kill 3rd kill...any sane person would change occupation by 4th dead person .

Ok this is insane. 911 call comes in, man with gun threatening people, situation is already bad. Cops show up knowing at anytime the "gun" in question could be drawn and fired at them. Cops ask man to come outside, he refuses. So at this point all the cops know is a gun was witnessed while holding a baby, mind you "not normal behavior" now refusing to come out and talk to the cops, again not normal. One officer thought he saw some thing in the guys hand, elevating the situation further. Then he reached for something, fatal error.

In reality this guy probably was threatening people with a gun, while holding a baby. Cops show up so he tucks the gun in a chair feet from door, which is where it was found.

He knows he's in trouble BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL TO THREATEN SOMEONE WITH A GUN! He doesn't want to go to jail, uses the baby as a shield, because he thinks it protects him from being tazed, tackled, or shot. He also had a shot gun near by. What was he reaching for? Did this have to end this way? NO! But this man was an idiot and could've changed the outcome, spent a night in jail, paid a fine and lived. Instead he had two guns, refused to come out and reached, in a heightened situation. Sorry, but justified. When he reached he could've pulled a full auto Mac10 "Available in AZ" and killed several cops.

For those concerned about the baby he should've left it in the fucking house. Obviously he wasn't to concerned about it. Had no problem having a gun with the baby in his arm. He knew he broke the law! He knew the cops had to do something about his violent threats with a handgun. Sorry he died, but his fault.

Is there special way holding a baby so you don't endup dead and acused using baby as a shield?

Unless they can show that the victim was a convicted violent felon with documented psychiatric issues, the shooting was completely inappropriate and Murder charges should be filed, no reasonable person would think that this guy was imminent danger to anyone. Obv. he was heated from the argument with his neighbor, but he put the gun away, and showed the pig that he was caring for a baby. MURDER.

I'm sure if this did happen Brief wouldn't refuse to come out and then reach for something during a stand off.

Two towns over from me a 40 something male living at his parents. His mom called 911 cause he was acting crazy. Cops show up, he wont come out, opens the door holding a shotgun pointing it up at the sky. Cops say drop it, he won't, he fires a shot in the air and the cops kill him.

People still said the cops didn't have to kill him or they should've known it was one of those suicide by cop things and used non lethal force.

I don't blame the cops.

You did post on page five that you were fighting with your neighbors and they called the cops and lied about you threatening them with a gun.

You said you felt threatened by them and kept the gun close.

The point I was trying to make was that had you just done one thing different (make the choice to stay in your home), then you would be in the same situation as this old guy.

Bad choice, but leading up to it, did you do anything wrong? Is it a really large crime to be to afraid to come out for whatever reason (illegal immigrant doesn't want to lose his life/family?)?

It's unfair he died, stupid and a shame. He was probably taking care of a baby where the babies Dad wasn't even around. We don't know the circumstances, and it's unfair to paint this old dude out to be a monster. He is the one who died after all, let's be moral.
