THAT is why every few months helps keep people safe. A DUI lasts a lot longer. There's a difference between freedom, and being part of a society. You don't live alone. Therefore there have to be rules, laws, limits. And there have to be people to enforce them. It's part of being a member of a group. You are a human living with other humans. In your home, do you do what you want in the name of freedom? Do you expect everyone in your home to cater to you and pull all the weight while you do what you want? They rules don't aply to you? Probably..or you live alone. He has the right to drink and drive. You should bugger off and while your at it get a clue. |

It's not that easy! I had to go through a roadblock when stone cold sober. I told the cop I hadn't had anything to drink for over a week, and he didn't believe me(I hadn't). Then they want to know where you came from, where you're going and why. They want to see your license, registration and insurance card, and they run them. They look inside the car for anything that might be illegal and ask questions about it - including an old radio I had from another car on the floor. This has NOTHING to do with DWI or DUI, and the radio was legally mine. It's just a fishing expedition for anything they can possibly find. They even ask if they can look in the trunk(not with my permission). At one checkpoint that ran most of the night, they said that they stopped 10000 cars and found no DWI, but some drugs, missing insurance or registration, and a couple of wants and warrants. That's wrong. Why is that wrong? Drugs, warrants..this is their job. This is what they do. How would you have them do it? Coddle the bad guys and their illegal doings? Make sure it's okay with them how and in what way they find them? They didn't arrest people for having cotton candy and puppy dogs. That would be wrong. |

Every State has different laws regarding the Privilege of driving a motor vehicle...Driving is not a 'right'... In many states you do not have the 'right' to refuse to answer lawful questions while driving...Refusal of lawful questions while driving can be used as tacit admittal that you are under the influence, and regardless of your 'rights', you can be convicted of DWI (or DUI depending on jurisdiction)... You're wrong, the constitution guarantees a right to travel, states can't say shit about it, and every officer, judge and politician takes an oath to protect the constitution... You're free to go. In the video it required a supervisor to make the common law determination. They know they can't do anything to "natural persons", its only after you contract with the corporate goon squad that they start demanding that you do what they say. Get a clue people. Study the law. The fact is, you can drink and drive. It is not a crime. Anyone who says it is just doesn't understand law. Driving while having a few, even dangerously is not a crime. It cannot be.
