UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the West’s saber-rattling against Iran

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the West’s saber-rattling against Iran and renewed a call for a diplomatic approach to resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.


“All these issues [the disputes over Iranian nuclear program] should be resolved peacefully through negotiations, through dialog,” Ban told reporters in Vienna on Friday.

Expressing his opposition to any possible military action by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran, Ban emphasized that there is no alternative to a “peaceful resolution to this issue.”

This comes while earlier this month, the Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said if Western sanctions against Iran fail to stop its nuclear program, military action against the country must be placed on the agenda.
