You should be thanking me for dispelling bullshit in your midst. But whatever. Good luck trying to get me to shut up. Simply telling me to do so isn't going to cut it, sport.

Astro who came up with the term Planet X and when was it first used? Are what some call Nibiru and Planet X the same? What is your take on Planet X?

Peace

The term was first coined by Percival Lowell sometime around 1908.

The hypothetical planet was sought for the same reason Neptune was sought. Uranus showed unexplained perturbations. When Neptune was discovered it accounted for most of those perturbations, but in the late 1840s it was realized that it didn't account for all of them. Whereas Neptune's position was so-well predicted mathematically by French mathematician Urbain Le Verrier that it was discovered the night after the astronomers received his letter with the predicted position, "planet X" was nowhere to be found where it was predicted to be. Pluto was found quite by accident while searching for planet X in 1930.

To make a long story short, in 1993, Myles Standish used telemetry data from Voyager to measure the mass of Neptune, and found that it was off by about the mass of Mars. Once this was corrected, the apparent perturbations thought to be caused by a "planet X" vanished, thus it was concluded that planet X does not exist.
