In the last 24 hours the monitoring system of Popocatepetl volcano recorded 61 low-to-modarate-intensity exhalations accompanied by emissions of steam, gas and occasionally small amounts of ash.
There was also 67 minutes of low-amplitud harmonic tremor

Yasur Volcano, Vanuatu
Over the past month increased activity has occurred at Yasur volcano, Vanuatu. A large amount of ash emissions have caused widespread damage to vegetation on Tanna Island. Ashfall was reported at Erromango Island 150 km north of Yasur volcano. On the evening of 3rd November 2013 John Seach witnessed large strombolian eruptions at Yasur. Explosions sent molten lava bombs up to 4 m diameter 250 m from the vent. Bombs were expelled onto the outside flanks of the cone, putting visitors at risk. The eruptions were some of the largest at the volcano since 1995.

The island was 700 m long in 1616 AD, but had shrunk to 42 m long and 5 m high by 1985 and could be eroded below sea level in the early part of the 21st century. The Kolbeinsey Hydrothermal Field lies south of the island. Thorarinsson (1965) roughly plotted the location of the 1372 eruption at about 66 degrees 40 minutes North. Reidel et al. (2003) note that the location is uncertain, but could lie between the Kolbeinsey Ridge and Hóll Seamount. Other reports of submarine eruptions north of Iceland have an even more uncertain location (1755) or have been discredited (1783 and 1838).

Mild, intermittent Strombolian activity has continued since the previous update at the New Southeast Crater. During fieldwork carried out by INGV-Osservatorio Etneo staff in the summit area today, explosion sounds were heard once to three times per minute, but during intervals of good visibility no ejections of pyroclastic material out of the crater were seen. The activity undergoes fluctuations but generally shows no tendency of eitner increasing or diminishing. After nightfall, sporadic ejections of incandescent pyroclastics have observed.

...The latest explosive plumes from the Indonesian volcano have topped 5-7 km (16,500-23,000 feet). All this activity has caused over 5,300 people to be evacuated from the region around the volcano and with any extended evacuations, issues with food and water access are occurring. Additionally, the farmland around Sinabung has been heavily damaged by the ash fall. The eruption has also started to produce small pyroclastic flows (see right) that have moved down the slopes of the volcano, so the 5-km exclusion zone may expand if that threat continues to grow...

from Sinabung from today (see above; via Lava Robin and Anthony Sagliani). You can see additional small pyroclastic flows on the flanks of the volcano, likely caused by parts of the column collapsing. Also, note the strong ash fall on the left side of the plume. The plume isn’t particularly tall (you can see it spread laterally at the very top of the image), so my guess is it is still in the range of the 5-7 km we’ve been seeing.
