but lava is still oozing from several vents on the southern, southeastern and northeastern sides of the cone, and there is still a lot of unstable material sliding on the steep flanks of the cone, exposing the incandescent material underneath.
The copious fallout of huge amounts of still-fluid, truck-sized lumps of lava onto the flanks of the cone caused a flowage phenomenon known as "rheomorphic flow" - a "rheomorphic" lava flow is formed not by overflow from a vent but from the coalescing and flow of countless liquid blobs of lava falling on the ground. This phenomenon has occurred previously at the New Southeast Crater - also during the previous paroxysm on 16 March 2013 - but not on the same scale as today.
