...It is particularly interesting to have look at the conclusion. Writes Boris Behncke, the author of the report:
"Given the recent paroxysms of Etna, the one that occurred on April 20th was one of the most violent of the current eruptive sequence and marks a significant change in the dynamics of the activity of the NCSE compared to paroxysms of April 3rd and April 12th. This mailnly appears in the reduction of the interval between the paroxysms, from 18 days between episodes of March 16th and April 3rd to two days between the last two paroxysms. Over the last three episodes, the « preludes » gradually shortened. Besides, fifteen minutes elapsed between the first emission of ash and the lava fountains. This episode is also marked by the relative simplicity of the eruptive phase, with all the explosive activity focused on the NCSE and all the effusive activity focused on a vent at the SE base of the cone. Finally, we should note that, after the paroxysm of April 20th, 2013, the monitoring parameters did not return to a « normal » level, which shows more « active » volcano dynamics compared to the previous weeks"
