Twisters on the Sun

Whatever happened to the wave she used to run on about? That seems to have fallen out of favor with her, just at the same time when cosmic 'ripples' and waves of supposedly unknown origin appear to be washing over us.

And where the heck is PSSZZZ ("BLAZAR IS COMING !!!!@$&*%$$$$!!!!!") when you need him???

uh oh...earthquake in la march 12th? They just remade the movie about the 50 foot woman...if they have a big marquee about the movie...it's time to leave town until summer...

it looks like it may finally be starting to fall apart. The Video below covers almost the entire duration of the thing up until about an hour ago.

wonder what used to happen on the sun? before we could see it up close?

here is my question...
the sun is one big magnetic ball. solar flares and CME's are when the sun's magnetic fiels is in flux and a small anount og highly charged plasma is push away. are these solar tornados caused by swirling band of magnetism or like on earth from tempature change?
i think it is from magnetism.

if so could this be causing all the strange magnetosphere activity on earth lately?

i have been looking into this for a week now.
last week on the 14th a whole opened up in are magentosphre.
from what i can find this is caused from negitivally charged particals hit the magentoshere. normally the magnetic field of earth is positivally chared and the partical from the sun are the same . 2 positives repell and the partical shoot past the earth. but on the 14th the magnetic field opened and let in solar and interstelar radiation and particals. now for about a week we have been having waves of geomagnetic stroms with low to no solar wind flowing and 0 solar flares and CME's.

i think as always these things are inter-connected!

there's another possible tornado on the other side of the Sun IMO.

It has looked like that for at least the past few hours

well I have admit thats a new one on me, but hardly truth.

I can tell you during the clean up of the planet coming, the ET's will put up all our dangerous nuclear reactors and weapons and toss them into the sun though.

what big quake do YOU know about that is supposed to hit in 5 to 7 days? even star fleet can't predict with that accuracy.

Although it IS an amazing video, it doesn't really look like the 'material' is actually spinning...
It is sort of floating, and being pushed around by the magnetic field.
IMHO, I think it is molten metals in the atmosphere, perhaps from a recent solar flare or something, and it is being tugged around by the Sun's powerful magnetic fields.
Look at it again, and see what I'm talking about...

I disagree. That may be true with the thing on the other side of the Sun (the video posted on this page) but a couple of the videos on the first page show obvious rotation and it has been in constant contact with the surface of the Sun for over two days now. It certainly doesn't look like it's "floating" IMO

Thats amazing, how common is this?

not sure..I'm planning one of these days to go thru the images day by day since SDO went online. This should be fairly easy to do using Helioviewer since they are easy to spot on A1A193 and 211

just did March 2011. It looks like they have been common for at least a year and probably longer..here are several instances of twisters, some of them as large as the ones in the past few days

there are days of missing data from that month so I'm guessing that's approx. when Helioviewer first came on line and they were working on bugs.

SDO itself came on line earlier that year

are you saying no big quake hit within the 5-7 days I warned?

in fact FOUR hit on the 25th ie 23rd window

one of which emsc says was a 7.9+ mag in Fiji lol

the other was listed between 6.7 to 7.1 Russia
