Do you all in SK actually worry about your crazy neighbors up north? I have a friend that teaches english in a hagwon in Busan and he says no one in South Korea really gives the North any thought... kind of like they just aren't there.

Full blooded white american who is there teaching on an E-2 VISA... and I doubt he's going to be confused by how the South Korean people react in reference to NK aggressive comments. South Koreans are fairly straight forward with saying what they think. By "western" understanding, some of the stuff they say may be taken as "cruel" but that isn't how they mean it. i.e. if you are overweight, a Korean that doesn't even know you might tell you "you are fat, you need to lose weight." It's not an insult... in their culture it's proper to advise others on what they should do to improve ones health. I've done a great deal of research on South Korean culture because around May or so, I am planning on being one of those E-2 VISA english teachers in South Korea... but I wanted to hear from an actual Korean native as to what they think about the North Korean aggressive talk. If I were you, I would wait for reunification with the South as the "victor" before considering moving there. Wait for stuff to calm down first. Hell.. if shit goes down then at least I'll be the first to know about it. lol. Gotta go sometime! Why not in the midst of the prologue to the grand finale of all things! lol
