Kalashnikov have unveiled the latest incarnation of their iconic assault rifle, the AK-47. The company says new generation firearm called the AK-12 combines reliability with precision, and can be used with one hand.
The factory which developed the new rifle decided to stick with the classic layout of the AK-47, even though it is a completely new weapon....
It looks like it's chambered in 5.45? The article didn't say. I hope not, there's a lot of better intermediate cartridges now.
I'm not a fan of the polymer, but I understand that's where things are going now.
I definitely love the new rear sight, but what else is changed other than ergonomics? How have they increased the effective range? It's still a 16in barrel.
Did they change the piston system? The charging handle is much more forward now.
