Re: Why are the birds chirping?
It's nearly 1:30AM and a lot of birds are chirping. Why? They've been at it for almost a half an hour. Sounds like a bunch of birds in one tree are communicating with other birds down the street.

I just read that when this happens it might be a predator. But c'mon already! All this time and it hasn't gotten to them yet?

I think somethings' up. They sound panicked.

cat.

That was my first impression. But unless there's a pride of cats out there, I highly doubt this is a predator-type communication I'm hearing. It's going on for too long.

Plus, it's in several trees. I'd say all within 50 feet of my place. For all I know, it's happening everywhere in Palm Beach county. But because I cherish my life, I'm not about to go lurking around at 2AM to find out.

Anyone else from south Florida?

Upstate NY

Oh sorry. I didn't realize you were the same person.
So you're in winter-time mode. Not that many song birds this time of year (because they're all down here!!) so yeah, I'd say that's highly unusual.

Where upstate? I'm originally from well...all around the Hudson Valley. Ulster. Greene. Albany counties.

Re: Why are the birds chirping?
I just read something interesting although I don't believe it pertains to this but.....it said some birds have adapted to singing at night (for mating purposes) due to the city noises in the day time which drowns out their chirps.

How 'bout that??

We destroyed the rain forest, polluted the Gulf, erected dangerous cell towers, shoot off HAARP, dump aerosol in the skies and have encroached on every single square inch of land that's beneficial to business and all the animals on this planet has paid the price.

This world sucks!! The 1% who call the shots and control the world, are totally apathetic towards every living entity on this planet.

So the birds having to chirp earlier due to urban congestion was the final straw for you huh?

Just kidding... But that's a weird tangent you went off on.

There is a thread about the solar data being censored where there is discussion about the sun's activity and increased solar radiation is reaching the earth due to the weakened magnetic field... There was talk about how bright the sun feels and how it's affecting the environment on the surface. Some speculation that the animals and specifically the birds are altering their natural behaviors or cycles due to increased radiation during daytime hours.

 Quoting: ANHEDONIC

Well my tangent was on behalf of these poor innocent animals.
Is there a natural explanation for this? Maybe.
But I do know we Humans have fucked with animals and polluted, diseased and encroached on these precious beings.

And I know they're spraying the sky with something. Every day they're laying down this aerosol trails over head.

I think the birds are going bonkers.
But the question remains: why?

Going to check out the situation and report back.

Our winter is so crazy here in the NE/MW USA that I came home the other day in mid February (!) and the birds were chirping, neighbor kid was playing basketball, and someone was grilling burgers.

Normally we're shoving snow

That's probably true but birds singing at night is abnormally abnormal.

I just went out to check and there's nothing there. They are in the bush next to my window, chirping away with other birds in other vegetation down the block.

And they're loud. Like they're squawking. I wish I understood their language. Something's up.

Same here. They started around 10PM tonight and are not letting up.

I've heard a bird or two chirp at night, probably due to a predator but then they stop. These birds are not stopping. They went on all night last night until I fell asleep around 4AM.

Very strange. Very disturbing. Very eerie.
