We live a hour fifteen from Sikeston...and did not feel the quake but did hear sounds...(like an 18 wheeler going bye.. Have a friend that lives in a castle in Ironton and said they didn't feel it but also heard the rumbling.
We do expect something seems you would have to living on/near a fault line...
We are just prepared and will use the Triangle safety tip...never get under anything lay next to it and as something falls it will break away and go over you instead of squashing you.

I'm in southern IL, away from cities and this morning there was a bad smell in the air.No cattle or dumps around so I wondered about methane.They say there's often a bad smell before EQs.

i just saw a quake in red (so it had happened in the last hour) in the new madrid area. more east. i don't know what state. i went to make some coffee then went back to click on it and it was GONE. did anyone catch that????
i don't see any blue squares in the same area (the colour they turn after they are over an hour old). it's just gone.

from the size of the square it didn't look large but also it was not tiny. it could have been between 2 and 3 just by the looks of the size of the square.

these happen periodically without a larger event too. while I haven't watched now for a few months, I have seen these clusters. some of these quakes should be be reported by usgs just like in california but are not.

Thread: OK what really happened with the sun and our earth (feb 14th and 15th) CRACKS in our MAGNETIC FIELDS and they are still happening!

Do we discount the AK quakes because of the fracking? Everyone was talking about the 4.0 in MO but look at the 5.3 in AK, and all the AK activity today... its not on the 3+ USA quake list btw...

im sorry i took some meds about 45 earlier to help mer sleep, I havnt slept in 3 days and was feeling sick, then i left to go look uo the heliorecorder thing.....but the sky was a bit cloudy and overcast, but could still see the stars, the soound we've heard all day isnt so much like an laundry bin in a dryer as it is like a heavy rumble or rumbling......where you look at each other and go, "was that just thunder" really" like that that? in february?....oalrightyyyyythen!take care

look at the strange geomagnetic storms durning the night in the US. there are strange energies moving aroung. rips in our magnetic shield, aruras seen in nebraska during what should have been a queit time, then wave after wave of geomagnetic storms happening night after night.

now there is alot of activity aroung the new madrid fault.

This looks like it could be some type of mining activity there.

All the other pages are hydrofracking and drilling signatures.

When there is hydrofracking going on, especially all around the surrounding States, TX, OK, CO,WY, AR, TN, LA, KY, MO, OH, IN, MS, AL, GA, what do you expect?
Each frack, causes explosions underground, under pressure, and it cracks and fractures the bedrock or whatever they are in, for a distance of about 2 thousand feet, in every direction.
Each well pad can have 8-10 pipes off of it, horizontally, and each pipe can have around 45-50 boreholes exploded into it.
This is very dangerous for the whole planet.

Just a thought you may check for weather cameras in the area that may have caught something on them. live or time lapse. I know we have one you can watch for Doniphan,MO in Ripley County so surely everywhere is must have one.

I am in St. Francois too, and if I were you, I would move! Get off of those mines. A couple of years ago they closed down the Bonne Terre school because they were hearing voices and could not figure out from where. They finally found the voices and they were the guys in the mines and the schools were opened back up.

This reminds me, I was going to post this a couple of days ago:

FEMA is sending around seismic survey teams in our area (North DFW, TX) and they are putting up equipment in our neighborhood. They wanted to put one in our yard, but we said No. They wouldn't take No for an answer either -- they asked three times, on three different occasions. There have been new gas wells going up quite a bit around here and I was wondering whether this seismic team was surveying due to fracking?

It's weird but I live in the NW Phoenix area and last night about 12:30 am my dog woke me up all upset and pawing at me. He's never done it before and I took him out just in case he had to "go". He didn't, he just walked around all excited and we came in and went back to sleep.

I know I'm far away from the New Madrid, but he's NEVER done this before.

I was in the big quake in the valley of L.A. in the early 90's. I was in Santa Monica on Hill St. and the houses around me collapsed. I had to jump out of bed and hold the bedroom door from slamming back and forth and ruining the wall. When the shaking stopped I had a flashlight and looked at my German Shepard on her bed and my cat on mine and they just laid there looking at me like I was crazy and went back to sleep. Totally not affected by all the shaking and noise. Every car alarm in the city was going off.

Sometimes animals sense things and sometimes they don't. Even though I'm this far away, because of my male boxer's actions last night I'm kinda intrigued.

The sensitivity of the seismo, 28.57 microvolts, could pick up a worm fart. Someone walking to close would look like an earthquake.

i live in tulsa and a few months ago we had an almost 6 pointer one evening, it went on several seconds and scared me to death. my condo walls rattled and it knocked over a heavy cement birdbath in my courtyard. i've lived here my whole life and never felt a hint of a quake except one other bout 3 years ago but not near so strong. now i read this. okla is on the new madrid, and the past 2 days i/we have heard some type of unidentified noise outside. my dog who hardly moves has stared at the bay window like she's on point. wouldn't it be crazy if the most significant/damaging quake happened in the plains state versus california like we've been led to expect?

I am in WV and feel that the "earthquake" that was reported in WV is due to fracking. They are taking over our state! People need $ due to coal mines closing so they lease their land to oil and gas exploration.
