Chicken Little
Took the kiddo to see Chicken Little tonight, and I donīt know if it was just GLPīs influence on me or what, but I was a little freaked.

First of all, there was a short trailer about some Ant Bully movie coming out in March next year (or summer, I canīt remember). The thing that caught me was the continued reference by the "ants" to "The Destroyer." The Destroyer is a little kid (who, of course, to the ant world is a huge giant). But that was the first thing that set me a little uneasy. All of these movies, and kid movies no less, about a power bigger than "us" reigning down terror.

Secondly, Chicken Little itself. Of course, the theme of the story/movie is that no one believes CL the first time he claims the sky is falling. Instead, as heīs ringing the big bell and screaming for everyone to take cover, mayhem, death, and destruction ensues. And it seems (in the beginning) for no reason at all. He warned everyone; everyone panicked. And the results were blamed on him.

It struck me as "an excuse" as to why the public shouldnīt be warned of impending disaster unless it is already happening, or, better yet, has already happened.

And then, when itīs shown that the "sky" that has fallen was really a cloaking device panel on a spaceship - that was a little spooky. As was the scene where all of the spaceships "broke open" the sky to descend on earth.

I hate to say it, because I ainīt no fan of Victorīs psychotic flip-flopping fear mongering, but I had a brief moment of remembering him saying something like The Big Thing will be akin to the sky unzipping and us realizing that our existence is more of an "experiment" by some other entity than anything weīve believed in the past.

Oh, and then the crop circles. Yeah.

I dunno. All in all, Chicken Little was like seeing GLP represented in over-the-top digitally animated animals.

And I hate to say it, but collectively, all the woo-woo predictors (like EAT, Victor, RG, etc.,) are so Chicken Little. And Chicken Little was right in the end.

Go see it. Youīll see what I mean.

I hope you didnīt burden your child with all that GLP baggage and just let him/her enjoy the movie for what it was.

Haha. Nice.

No, actually, I sat him down after the movie and lectured him on the complete insanity that goes on here and how itīs 100% true. Also, about how the sky really IS falling. And then I had him drink the Kool-Aid.

Crimeny.

In return, I hope you donīt burden everyone with whom you come into contact with your pseudo-concerned, pretentious conclusion-jumping and just let them enjoy being who they are without paying the price of your two cents.
