So you don't trust Google one bit? I use Gmail for my e-mail as well. O.O

Nope. I don't trust any companies that cache my actions without my consent. They obviously have an agenda. Otherwise they would tell you what they are doing.

They say that everything they collect about you is anonymized and for quality purposes. They say that they won't give identifiable data to anyone unless they are subpoenaed.

HAHA! Yeah. Good one! The way I look at it; they are a business. When I use their services I am on their property and when I am on their property they don't play by the same rules as I do. They poke and prod me. Stuff tracking items in my pocket and then when I ask them what I am looking for they give me the politically correct bullshit versions of info that they have been ordered to.

Besides in regards to their new privacy bullshit they wrote "If you don't want to be part of the new privacy rules, then you need to close your accounts before March 1st" So I did.

Bleh...fuck'em.

The only thing I would be missing from Google is Gmail and YouTube. I'll probably keep my account open just for YouTube, but I'll take my email somewhere else. Who do you recommend. Hotmail seems pretty good.

I like to access my email through a client via pop and smtp so Hotmail allows this. Yahoo also allows this process.

Google employees yesterday let is spill that before the end of 2012, you will be able to buy augmented-reality smart eyeglasses from the search giant. The Android-powered glasses will have an onboard camera that monitors in real time what you see as you walk (or, heavens preserve us, drive) down the street. The lenses will then overlay information about people, locations, and whatnot directly into your field of view.

This article says it'll be out this year. Talk about data mining and tracking opportunities. Especially with all governments (including the UN) wanting control of the internet.

Walking around with an internet-connected device on your FACE, piping what you see through servers that the government is wired into. Just a small step to making a similar device mandatory for ALL purchases.
Be aware of what you KNOW and what you BELIEVE. Don't ever let what you believe block the path of knowledge, for knowledge is truth. Belief is a temporary crutch at best, and crutches are for disabled people.
