The report yesterday said that the Korans were mixed with other books, and they were just basically "burning prisoner trash" and hadn't realized they were in the pile. I guess one of the tech's noticed them in the fire, after it was started, and tried to reach in a grab them out. He ended up burning his fingers in the process.
