Re: Game Over for NASA Moon-Landing Hoax
Why are you all arguing about sand's property to reflect or refract light? Who cares... they sent unmanned flights *before* manned one, to do anything else is retarded. Any of those unmanned flights could have contained the mirror used to reflect the laser. Much easier than sending a remote control robot to Mars if you ask me. Less distance, less deviation.

sure there are more questions, who filmed Armstrong, when he says the first blabla (where was the camera)
on aonther film, when the shuttle starts from the moon, the cam moves up (following the shuttle) how? with an controller? etc.

That's another possibility.

But no, the alleged retro-reflectors are irrefutable proof to the MoonTards that MAN HAS GONE TO THE MOON. They have such religious fervor!

The astronauts reactions to the accusations is evidence enough. If they really went they would have embraced the "joke" by now.

Poor monkeys can't hide emotion. They even had a Christian way out of the bible swearing by sayind swearing is against gods law.

But emotions rule the primate and his need to keep up his appearance gives his intentions away.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11309134

or perhaps it's simply righteous indignation for being called liars, by people who;

1. can not believe that mankind is not capable of performing such a wondrous feat.

2. can not believe in a god so benevolent, that he would create a universe full of wonder, and then encourage it's exploration.

i can not believe we find ourselves in a time when there is virtually no space program. of course everyone knows god doesn't want us in space, just like he didn't want columbus to sail past the horizon, or the wright bros. to fly.. but rest assured you've done your good works. your grandchildren will grow up in a world where many nations will travel the trackless voids of space, will experience beautiful new things. but your children's children will live in a country that has as much effect on the future as belgium. you know, just the way god intended it.

The chang'e 2 photos & full high res map, gives you your answer.

No, the surface of the moon can't be used as a reflector (a refractor, perhaps), but the numerous Russian probes that have reflectors in order to calculate topography, exist on the moon.

The Van Allen theory is blown way out of proportion. It's a belt, not a sphere. We can bypass it.

Anyway, look at the Chang'e 2 maps. Humans were/are up there. Tell me, you don't see mining operations. They're all over.

For people to get bent out of shape discussing if you want to call it that whether or not the Moon landings were faked seems a bit odd. I can see if you were talking about religion, race, politics, even men verse women, but hoaxing the Moon landing? The OP must have hit a nerve.

Earth-Moon-Earth, also known as moon bounce, is a radio communications technique which relies on the propagation of radio waves from an Earth-based transmitter directed via reflection from the surface of the Moon back to an Earth-based receiver.

Bouncing radio waves off an object (aka radar) is not the same as bouncing light off an object.

Re: Game Over for NASA Moon-Landing Hoax
Okay, that was a waste of half-an-hour (not more than that because I skimmed through it). Anyhow, here are the main arguments:

- President Clinton hinted that the landings were faked.

Others have noted that the real point was all the weird stuff that goes on in Washington and on TV.

- It hasn't been done since.

Amazing how no one has seen fit to spend $150 billion on a profitless exercise.

- The Van Allen Belts are scary.

This has been refuted a zillion times over.

- The astronauts would overheat on the Moon.

Ditto.

- Von Braun said it would take a huge rocket to go directly to the Moon and back.

The whole point of the quote being that you don't go directly to the Moon and back with the entire spaceship, as in fact the Apollo missions did not.

- Grissom was murdered to keep him from blowing the whistle.

Of course, he was absolutely the only astronaut who would have done so - all the other several dozen astronauts involved with the program could be relied upon to toe the line.

- Something about seeing stars from the Moon.

I skimmed through this, but it looked to be yet another quote (this makes three) taken completely out of context.

- Von Braun went to the Antarctic and collected lunar meteorites that were used to fake the Moon rocks.

Yeah, of course, you're going to fake a Moon landing, so you send the world's most famous rocket scientist on a high-profile expedition to collect the fakes. Not to mention that the first Moon meteorites weren't identified until after the Apollo missions, and then only by comparing them with the Apollo samples.

- Flag waves on the Moon.

In exactly one clip right when the astronaut walks past it and quite possibly brushes it. Even then, it continues to wave far longer than it would in an atmosphere.

- Tired old complaints about the photos.

Not worth addressing - there are plenty of other sources for this.

- Something blocking the image of the Earth even though Armstrong says the camera is in the window.

This is blatantly dishonest: the Armstrong quote, even though it's presented before the image with the Earth being partially blocked, is actually from NINE MINUTES LATER. Isn't it possible that the camera was moved in the meantime?

- Aldrin profited off the moon missions by selling memorabilia.

Yeah, big deal.

- The lunar module would have to go really fast to get into orbit, and that's just ridiculous.

Except to every rocket engineer who's actually looked at the data.

- Scientists don't blow the whistle because it would jeopardize their careers.

Scientists retire eventually. Why are they still keeping their mouths shut?

- If you look at the progress of flight technology, Apollo is a statistical anomaly.

This is about the only one I'd agree with. Somehow the US government decided to spend 6% of the entire federal budget for years on landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth. If NASA still had the same relative budget, it would get something like $250 billion a year, more than a dozen times its actual current budget.

All in all, the video is obviously made by someone lacking almost any scientific or engineering understanding of the Apollo missions. It's no surprise it was made by Jarrah White, whose claims have been shredded repeatedly by much smarter people than me. (Google on "Jarrah white Jay Windley" for more.)

Re: Game Over for NASA Moon-Landing Hoax
I absolutely agree with you something must be right with your argument for folks to be name calling and cussing about a difference in opinion. For people to get bent out of shape discussing if you want to call it that whether or not the Moon landings were faked seems a bit odd. I can see if you were talking about religion, race, politics, even men verse women, but hoaxing the Moon landing? The OP must have hit a nerve.

Some of us get a little tired of people - pretty much without exception sad, ignorant, arrogant people who don't have any accomplishments of their own - calling the greatest achievement in human history a fake. That doesn't entirely excuse the language, but I understand the feeling behind it.

No one would believe any of MY accomplishments either if I couldn't reproduce them.

"The Language" Listen to the recordings, your precious ass-tronauts know those words too.
