300-Million-Year Old Fossil Forest found In China!

Remarkable is that scientists found evidence of the forest just as it existed close to 300-million-years ago, preserved as they were covered in volcanic ash. Scientists dated the ash layer to be about 298 million years, and the volcanic eruption is believed to have occurred at the start of a geologic era called the Permian period.
