Every house in America could have solar panels...
If the government spent $10,000 per house for a total around $1,142, 360,000,000. Les than we are dumping down rat holes in the war countries.

Re: Every house in America could have solar panels...
I agree. Also, rather than give money to Polosi's brother in law or nephew to build a solar plant on untouched land it would make far more sense to equip every roof top with solar panels. Why do we have to build vast solarplexes in the desert or elsewhere that ruin habitat when we have acres of space available on the rooftops of our buildings? The answer is of course politicians have to payback or line the wallet of their friends and relatives.

and so that it's still controlled, you will still have to pay, whereas you wouldn't have to if they were on your roof.

No, what one doens't use can be sold back to the company. The government could also give a subsidy or a loan, such an Nancy did to her relative, then the homeowner pays nothing except the loan. People could also just equip their homes without guberment intervention and not pay shit. Pelosi's scam is to enrich her family and keep people paying for something that is free. Solar energy is FREE.

Listen these solars panels are bullshit and do not work well in more Northern latitude states. It ain't gonna heat my house nor fill my gas tank.

WE NEED TO DRILL FOR OIL AND WE NEED TO DO IT NOW. We have enuf oil here to take care of America without being dependent on anyone else. You want jobs? Drill. You want independence from foreign sources? Drill. You want less chance of World War? Drill.

Wind farms and solar energy are destroying this country. It's time to get off the shit.

We have too much large hail here in the south. It destroys solar panels. So no thanks, I will stick with my nice power sources I have now.

I'd love to have a solar array on my roof that would power my entire house at the current consumption of electricity I use... but the up-front costs are prohibitive to most consumers.

Sure... the costs offset over time... but you still have to have that money NOW to get it set up and in place...

Actually batteries go a long way to solve that problem. You store the power generated on a sunny day and use it when it rains.

At any rate the real issue isn't can you do exclusive solar. The real issue is would it be nice to cut your electric bill in half.

Not true. I run my house off 90% solar, 10% wind. The panels are easy to clean off in the winter (though they naturally heat up pretty well.) Regardless, that's why you have a battery reserve. You're powering your house directly with panels, that's dangerous and stupid.

I agree that solar panels would not make a good primary source for energy, but it would take stress off the power grid.

lol... so being mostly overcast, it's producing more power than their coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear, wind, and hydro plants?

...obviously solar power is worthless.

I live in SW MN and 500 watts of solar electric and a 4x8 foot solar hot air panel that have both cut my utility bills substantially. Electric by 1/4, and my heat bill by 1/3. Building a second solar heat panel this summer to help even more. The solar heats panels are costing me $200 each so very cheap.

This is my next project. By adding those strategically, I can get rid of electric heat, and save even more power draw from my battery bank.

My family runs a large solar PV installation company in the upper midwest of the United States that specializes in large scale industrial and commercial applications for PV power generation, and you sir, are full of crap. I personally have installed over a million dollars of PV equipment for multiple companies. I can vouch for the effectiveness of PV power in the northern states, after all, they sit at the same latitude as Germany, a leader in solar power generation.

Solyndra was a poorly managed company. US PV manufacturing is a very cutthroat business and they invested too heavily in thin film PV tech, a trend that started in china which flopped in 2010 by something like 30%. So many manufactures thought this was the next best thing.

Solar can also heat your house

The wars are not about Oil or Energy, anyone that tells you that is Brainwashed.

Free Energy is Classified under the Invention Secrecy Act.

No joke under the Invention Secrecy Act they have an entire section designated to Power Generation.

They use over unity generators to power the battleships and shoot the railguns.

Mine was putting out 135 degree air the other day when it was zero out. Works well as long as it is sunny.
