The first book I ever read on the subject was ' Power of the Witch' by Laurie Cabot. She's written some other books as well, but I'm not familiar with those.

"The Complete Book of Witchcraft" by Raymond Buckland
and "The Witches Bible Complete" by Stuart and Janet Farrar
are two good books to start with.

I've had several female friends try this wiccan stuff, and they all came away from it a little different. I don't have direct knowledge of what they participated in but I would say that none of them are happy with how things turned out. I hope your experience is better if you choose to go down that path.
