So just so I've got this straight, Jesus tells us He is God in His own words:

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Then Jesus according to this thread predicts the coming of a prophet who will deny His divinity... lol. Unless Jesus predicted that a false prophet would arise who would claim the spirit of denying Jesus Christ - therefore by definition Muhammad is anti-christ and Islam is also.

Ok now here is something interesting. Abraham gave birth to Isaac and Isaac to Jacob who had twelve sons making the twelve tribes of Israel. However Arbaham had Ishmael first to his Egyptian hand maid, and it was said of Ishmael that:

"But as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation." Genesis 17:20

Muhammad claims lineage I believe to Ishmael, and tells the Genesis story a *little* differently to the bible (which pre-dates him by several hundred+ years) by saying Ishmael was the son of Abraham and Sarah, not the hand maid... go figure.

Yeah right...I did my college training in translation work so I had extensive training in ancient texts and Linguistics, and this is the first I have ever heard of such an "edict". And for what purpose? there was a big problem of determining the canon of scripture anyway, why would they want to destroy any text let alone all Hebrew texts?

Interesting. Probably some form of propaganda that was to be used by the muslim powers in Anatolia to try and persuade the Kazakh Empire of the period in converting to Islam. They were in a theological tussle with the Byzantium Empire and Orthodox Christianity in trying to garner the support of the Kazakh's who were the eastern bulwark against the spread of Islam into Europe, In the end the Kazakh's converted to Judaism. They inturn became the Eastern European jewish people who were pushed further west by Mongol invasion and the vacum left after the Black death.
