prepare for some serious christian rage over this... A secret Bible in which Jesus is believed to predict the coming of the Prophet Muhammad to Earth has sparked serious interest from the Vatican. Pope Benedict XVI is claimed to want to see the 1,500-year-old book, which many say is the Gospel of Barnabas, that has been hidden by the Turkish state for the last 12 years. The £14million handwritten gold lettered tome, penned in Jesus' native Aramaic language, is said to contain his early teachings and a prediction of the Prophet's coming. [ link to www.answering-christianity.com] The Gospel of Barnabas was accepted as a Canonical Gospel in the Churches of Alexandria till 325 A.D. Iranaeus (130-200) wrote in support of pure monotheism and opposed Paul for injecting into Christianity doctrines of the pagan Roman religion and Platonic philosophy. He had quoted extensively from the Gospel of Barnabas in support of his views. This shows that the Gospel of Barnabas was in circulation in the first and second centuries of Christianity. In 325 A.D., the Nicene Council was held, where it was ordered that all original Gospels in Hebrew script should be destroyed. An Edict was issued that anyone in possession of these Gospels will be put to death.LOOK...I know there is a creator..if you dont i dont have a problem with it.. be perfect though..IF THE CREATOR SHOWED EACH AN EVERY PERSON THE WAY HE SHOWED ME1 Yeah right...I did my college training in translation work so I had extensive training in ancient texts and Linguistics, and this is the first I have ever heard of such an "edict". And for what purpose? there was a big problem of determining the canon of scripture anyway, why would they want to destroy any text let alone all Hebrew texts? He is repeating the bahaviour of calif Uthman, he was the editor of the koran and he demanded to destroy all copies and scriptures of this person called muhammad. And it is not clear if this prophet did ever exist, maybe he was only created for political power and force. And all the stories about this person, he was nothing special, only a ordinary warlord.
