Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.
Anyone else see this documentary?

Do you understand what will happen if this fad catches on?

People will be fasting, and juicing by the thousands.

This will change their minds. There is no return.

A good portion of it takes place up in the Oboboji area where I grew up (northwest Iowa). It is a very interesting concept. Extra enzymes/vitamins but losing weight quickly.

Re: Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.
I have personally seen it. I didn't adopt the juicing methods but rather instead I adopted a different "eating" regime and had dropped 50 lbs with only 30 more to go. Turns out that most of the foods I had been consuming all my life has been the CULPRIT in why my health was not in great shape. Since having adopted a different method of eating habits (mostly paleo diet).... my health has taken a 360 degree turn around. I highly recommend more peeps to steer away from the traditional processed foods and cook their own stuff from scratch. I think we'd find out if more people adopted different eating habits, we'd have a healthier population, just my .02 cents.

paleo is def the way to go imo. Juicing is a great supplement though. I have also been drinking green smoothies everyday for a couple of years and have not experienced sickness in a long time.

What? The fat trucker might have lost that much, the main guy didn't lose anywhere near that much. He certainly didn't start off at 5-600 pounds, lol.

Anyway, it was a great documentary. Watch Food INC for a real treat.

yea, i didn't really watch it. I saw my girlfriend watching it, and she told me a bunch of other people were watching it. I believe masses of people fasting will cause an acceleration in conciousness shift.

I saw it. I recommend it to everyone. Started a juice fast. Ladies.... this is the best beauty treatment you could ever ask for. I lost a pound per day on the fast, and I have kept it off by eating right.

It does change the way you think about food. Do it. You will feel awesome!

Juice fasting is a fast way to lose weight, but what happens when you are finished with the fast? Doesn't your body go back after you start solid food again?

I just saw this the other day. Very good documentary. Well presented, not boring and really is inspiring.

I actually bought a juicer and some fruits and veggies yesterday!

I got Ginger, Green Apples, Lemon, Spinach, Celery etc.

But can't find Kale though. Don't think we have kale here. :/

Oh and one up for the Paleo Diet. It really does work. There is also a good thread here about eating fat, and being very low on carbs. Lost 30 pounds with that one. I'm going for a ten day juice fast just to clean my body off toxins. Quitting smoking too, so yeah. Gonna be a bumpy ride. ^_^

It's not so much about losing weight but more about getting your doby right with a flood of raw organic nutrition in macrobiotic form. The weight loss comes naturally, and is secondary IMO.

Avoid processed/man made foods

Overeat your fruits and vegetables

Whatever hunger is leftover, feel free to eat almost anything.

The enzymes, vitamins, etc will take care of you

Kale is going to be tough to find in the philippines, especially since it is a cool weather plant.

However, you have plenty of fruit trees.

I am on a 20 day fast right now. first few days are hard as fuck but you get used to not eating. You feel full. It's more of a mind fuck than anything.

careful when you start eating again, you will bite the shit out of your tongue or lip. You forget how to eat.

Many people have a gluten sensitivity! I try to stay away from it as much as I can...luckily there are many substitutes these days and I've gotten pretty good at finding something to eat besides my normal bread, oats, etc.

Next, watch "Forks over Knifes" to put the whole American diet into context in regards to cancer and cardio vascular disease. It's a real eye opener.

We don't need to throw more money at health care.. Americans MUST change their dietary habits. We could save 70% of our current health care costs. That's why few doctors talk about diet, their profitability would plummet.
