Re: DRUDGE REPORT: PETA kills more than 95 percent of pets in its care...
Documents published online this month show that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organization known for its uncompromising animal-rights positions, killed more than 95 percent of the pets in its care in 2011.

This has been "common" knowledge for about 3-4 years.

I remember when it was made public a few years ago. It was on the news all over the place. I thought that would be the end of them, but, sadly, not. I hope this time it happens.

Anderson Cooper did an expose on them in 2005.

Hillary: What difference does it make?
Carney: Benghazi happened a long time ago.

THERE ARE NO HOMES AVAILABLE FOR THESE DOGS !!!

Stop breeding and puppy farms, its the people that keep breeding these unwanted puppies to make money and the idiots that buy them that is the problem here, buy your dogs from shelters get them neutered and the problem goes away.

I agree. That's part of the problem and very inhumane. Better to adopt.

Re: DRUDGE REPORT: PETA kills more than 95 percent of pets in its care...
The militant PETA, SPCA, Human Society people are all the same. I will never rescue a pet from any of them again. This really gets me going...We had, over the years, taken in four of their cats. The first one we got - years ago - had Feline Leukemia and had to be returned. The next two were fine (one died of old age and the other is still living but getting old). The last one we got a year ago, and he was very timid (we didn't know this at the PetSmart adoption event - he just clung to us and we thought he was scared because of everything that was going on). We took him home and he bolted. He would come to eat and we could pet him a little then, but otherwise he hid. He would sneak into our garage when we went out the door - lots of bugs and ground squirrels to chase away from the dog and bird food, and that gave him something to do.

After weeks of trying to tame him with no success, we took him back because we didn't want to spend a dozen or more years looking after a wild cat who was no pet. They told us they were afraid that was going to happen because that litter had never been socialized and had sat in a cage for months...duh! They told us they didn't have a foster home for him and we would have to keep him. So, we left and figured he would just have to be our garage cat. Now, this crazy British lady with the humane society must have sat and stewed on this for a few days and let her imagination run away. She called animal control AND the police to tell them we were going to kill this animal - absolutely no reason to think this except for the fact that we wanted to return him.

So, animal control comes driving up to our 6 bedroom McMansion on three fenced town acres in a nice neighborhood and asks to see the cat. I go get him. He is obviously well-tended. As if on cue, our dog (whose sire was best in breed at Westminster for two years and his uncle was best in breed at last week's show) came to the storm door to look out and see what was going on - toy in his mouth and tail wagging. Our other cat came and stood right beside him. It's obvious at this point that we are good pet owners. The animal control officer apologized and said she was bound by law to check out all complaints. She asked to see our vet records and left. Then, an hour or two later, I get this call from a police officer who is laughing because there was some crazy British lady in there demanding he arrest us. I tell him what happened and by this time he is hooting (it's a small town and people know us - we don't even have an unpaid parking ticket for heaven's sake).

Anyway, I wrote the nastiest letter to the local humane society director (who gave me a call and told me she has no control over her volunteers) and then I went and talked to the PetSmart manager. I have never been so embarrassed and will never, ever again give money to or adopt another of their animals.

Wild story. I guess I'm new to learning about how crazy these groups are. Sound like some of them are run by those crazy "cat ladies" you see in the news with 150 cats crapping all over the house and some are run by the types manning the ovens at Auschwitz.

It was bizarre to say the least, but we learned a lesson that all of our future pets will come from 1) reputable breeder; 2) abandoned in a ditch; 3) local people who have a litter to give away. I can't help but wonder if the reason why they are having such problems getting rid of the animals is because so many of us have been burned in the past? It was bad enough they adopted out a kitten with feline leukemia. Our daughter, who was little at the time and picked out the kitten, was heart-broken. It was also a good thing we had vaccinated our other cat against that or he might have contracted it also.

The R.S P.C.A do the same thing.
they say they try to help.
yet make plenty of cash.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11465527

[...]PETA collected almost $29 million in donations in 2004 alone, but few donors understand exactly where their money is going. During the past ten years, PETA has spent four times as much on criminals and their legal defense than it has on shelters, spay-neuter programs, and other efforts that actually help animals.

From both a moral and a legal standpoint, there are far too many objectionable things about PETA to list here in detail. But the following "top ten list" is a good start:
PETA is not an animal welfare organization.
PETA spends less than one percent of its multi-million dollar budget actually helping animals.

One can only conclude they spend all their money flying around their lear jet liberal mouthpiece bitches to big splash functions jamming googly eyed donors up for more money to "save" the animals.
