With all the prophecies mainly the Mayan , um, are our dates accurate? I wonder because I was told by a priest that we are off by two years.

A fiery dragon will cross the sky
Six times before this earth shall die
Mankind will tremble and frightened be
for the sixth heralds in this prophecy.[Tribulation trumpets]
For seven days and seven nights
Man will watch this awesome sight.
The tides will rise beyond their ken
To bite away the shores and then
The mountains will begin to roar
And earthquakes split the plain to shore.[earthquakes]
And flooding waters, rushing in
Will flood the lands with such a din
That mankind cowers in muddy fen

and........

And when the dragon's tail is gone,
Man forgets, and smiles, and carries on
To apply himself - too late, too late
For mankind has earned deserved fate.
His masked smile - his false grandeur,
Will serve the Gods their anger stir.
And they will send the Dragon back
To light the sky - his tail will crack
Upon the earth and rend the earth
And man shall flee, King, Lord, and serf.
But slowly they are routed out
To seek diminishing water spout
And men will die of thirst before
The oceans rise to mount the shore.
And lands will crack and rend anew
You think it strange. It will come true.

Typical NASA figuring: 17 digits in the calculation and they don't even know if the first few are accurate.

The most recent is 34,975 km.

It has obviously stabilized. This is virtually the same distance as the 77 day calculation.

You're welcome.

Yes there are other sources.

NEODyS, gives this:

[link to newton.dm.unipi.it]

2013/02/15.80959 0.0002265 astronomical units, which is 33,900 km. (An astronomical unit, or au, is the average Earth-Sun distance of 149,600,000 km)

It's independent enough to disagree by about 1,000 km.

This NEODyS page gives some info on what groups involved:

Only 16,777 miles from Earth? Woah! Pretty close call I would say, below some satellite's orbits.

Too close!
