I will ask my computer pro friend about it. Quoting: now what Well, some of it might still be on the hard drive and recoverable. A bit of hope remains if it wasn't overwritten by the new software install. Getting all of it back would be a miracle though. It will be tough and you will have to send the drive off to professionals. I say that because you are posting here and it would already be recovered if you knew what you were doing. |

Try something like EASEUS Data Recovery, run it and it will list all recoverable files, it takes a bit to sort it out what is what after as the path to it you had no longer exists but the files are intact. Google for a demo download of it and if it looks ok buy the real thing.... and please remember it would be very naughty to search thepiratebay.se for the full version, thats illegal. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 11485314 Canada 02/27/2012 02:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When a file is deleted only the status of the file gets changed. Files are still there provided they are not overwritten by further disk write activity. The more disk writes after the fact, the more you will potentially/probably lose. An o/s upgrade could be a bit messy depending. Grab easy recovery pro or easeus. Tons of free full versions floating around if you know how to get them aka torrent. You'll need a spare drive to restore to. Dont save any files or chage any data on the hard drive in the meantime. Have done this several times across some crazy drive setups. Hopefully your Windows user profile folder is still semi available. You'll want to google where that is, and what you cshould recover from it (favorites, pics, docs, email). 90% of your stuff is going to be in there. Good luck. |
