Yes its possible, NOTHING gets deleted on an HD ever (only way to remove anything permanently is to smash it to bits with a hammer). Try something like EASEUS Data Recovery, run it and it will list all recoverable files, it takes a bit to sort it out what is what after as the path to it you had no longer exists but the files are intact.
