I had mine come in in teen years.. then I had them extracted... Do you have any Valerian root in the house? Valerian root has always helped me with pain. Also, take Mega-doses of Vit.C with citrus Bioflavinoids, Itīs a great natural anti-inflammatory and also has an affinity for the gums... Feel better ! <<< !! VIVE LA RESISTANCE !! >>> |

Dexter User ID: 6337 United States 11/06/2005 06:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | if you cant afford a dentist right now, go to an herb store and get some echinacea root. Not the extract, the raw root. Put this between the cheeck and gum near the affected tooth. It wil serve a dual purpose...1) numb the area, 2 help fight bacterial infection. Its a native american remedy, but its only a temp fix. Save some douh, and if you cant afford the 1500 for a root canal, pay the 180 and get it pulled. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1044 Canada 11/06/2005 07:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Please read the following links and then go see a dentist to see if it needs to be removed. Impacted wisdom teeth can be extremely painful and very dangerous and if they need to be removed, there arenīt any alternatives. Treating only the pain will just let it get much worse. If you donīt think you can afford it, ask the dentist about paying over time or ask him and your doctor and your friends about lower cost dental services. Sometimes public healthcare will cover it and sometimes you can have it done at minimal cost at a dental college by a student dentist. But regardless you really *have* to have it checked by a dentist and explore your options. The longer you delay the worse and more expensive itīs going to be. Anonymous Coward User ID: 39666 Australia 11/06/2005 07:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It would be WISE to get it checked out by a dentist. Sometimes the pain can be caused by an infection under the tooth. If untreated this can be very dangerous, as the infection can travel via the bloodstream, directly to the heart. Iīm serious. |
Wizz Dumbtooth User ID: 115 United States 11/06/2005 07:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What is an Impacted Wisdom Tooth ? A tooth becomes impacted due to lack of space in the dental arch and its eruption is therefore prevented by gum, bone, another tooth or all three. Lack of space occurs because our jaws have become smaller (through evolution), we do not loose teeth through decay as frequently as in the past, and our diet is such that our teeth do not wear down as much. What are the Indications for Removing Wisdom Teeth ? Wisdom teeth generally cause problems when they erupt partially through the gum. The most common reasons for removing them are: Decay Saliva, bacteria and food particles can collect around an impacted wisdom tooth, causing it, or the next tooth to decay. It is very difficult to remove such decay. Pain and infection will usually follow. Gum Infection (Pericoronitis) When a wisdom tooth is partially erupted, food and bacteria collect under the gum causing a local infection. This may result in bad breath, pain, swelling and trismus (inability to open the mouth fully). The infection can spread to involve the cheek and neck. Once the initial episode occurs, each subsequent attack becomes more frequent and more severe. Pressure Pain Pain may also come from the pressure of the erupting wisdom tooth against other teeth. In some cases this pressure may cause the erosion of these teeth. [link to www.umanitoba.ca] [link to www.umanitoba.ca] [link to www.umanitoba.ca] |
