Santorum doesn't want seperation of Church and State

I am a Christian, I try to practice Biblical rules, but God wouldn't want him pushed on non-believers.

That's why we have freedom of choice, if God didn't want freedom of choice, then we wouldn't have it.

Santorum also said Americans don't have a right to privacy under the Constitution.

How is this NUT JOB even in the race?

Pin this shit

Re: Santorum doesn't want seperation of Church and State
I certainly do not want Catholics running Washington - which has been the case since 1776. But if Christians were to take over a state or Washington it would be like the Colonies before, where any Christian is free to practice.

The Constitution says "shall make no law" prohibiting religion. They can make NO LAW forbidding any religion.

This is why banning the bible in state schools violates the Constitution. When Muslims are majority they will bring in their Holy Koran. Until then Christians are the persecuted majority.

Re: Santorum doesn't want seperation of Church and State
Santorum wants the Roman Church man-pope to have final say about what goes re abortion and homosexuals, evolution and God. But what will he do re immigration and wars? That's right, what his open border globalist pope wants.

In fact the president has no authority over abortion policy homosexuals ect.

So he would only be able to affect immigration policy and foreign wars - which he is in favor of.

I believe Santorum is the plant to get Obama elected, just as octogenerian McCain. Remember the hoopla about JFK just because he was a Catholic? Now we got one setting up a US office in DC for The Pope, in advance.

No Baptist or Pentecostal or Church of Christer is going to cast a vote for The Pope...and that in itself ends the race.

The fix is in.

Yea, I think he is hurting himself by criticizing JFK's speach regarding seperation of church and state.

I believe even tho 83% of americans identify themselves as christian, that the majority want seperation of church and state. He is only hurting his chances in a general election.

Judge rules Islamic education OK in California classrooms: Dismisses suit opposing requirement students recite Quran, pray to Allah
December 13, 2003
© 2011 WND

Requiring seventh-grade students to pretend they're Muslims, wear Islamic garb, memorize verses from the Quran, pray to Allah and even to play "jihad games" in California public schools has been legally upheld by a federal judge, who has dismissed a highly publicized lawsuit brought by several Christian students and their parents.

Schools banning Christianity are advocating atheism. No matter what they do they are advocating one way or the other.

When Islam becomes the majority and they want to practice Islam in the shariah schools then so be it.

State and local school boards can do whatever they want on the issue. That is the reason for the school boards, for a measure of local control.

Texas School Board Set to Vote on Challenge to Evolution
MARCH 23, 2009
By STEPHANIE SIMON

The Texas Board of Education will vote this week on a new science curriculum designed to challenge the guiding principle of evolution, a step that could influence what is taught in biology classes across the nation.

The proposed curriculum change would prompt teachers to raise doubts that all life on Earth is descended from common ancestry. Texas is such a huge textbook market that many publishers write to the state's standards, then market those books nationwide.

Texas school board chairman Don McLeroy sees the curriculum as a landmark.

Dr. McLeroy believes that God created the earth less than 10,000 years ago. If the new curriculum passes, he says he will insist that high-school biology textbooks point out specific aspects of the fossil record that, in his view, undermine the theory that all life on Earth is descended from primitive scraps of genetic material that first emerged in the primordial muck about 3.9 billion years ago.

If you want to go back to the Scopes trial: There was a law in Tennessee prohibiting evolution theory. Scopes was found guilty for violating the law.

John Scopes was convicted and fined $100 for teaching evolution in his Dayton, Tenn., classroom. The first highly publicized trial concerning the teaching of evolution, the Scopes trial also represents a dramatic clash between traditional and modern values in America of the 1920s.

The jury found Scopes guilty of violating the law and fined him $100. Bryan and the anti-evolutionists claimed victory, and the Tennessee law would stand for another 42 years. The verdict did have a chilling effect on teaching evolution in the classroom and not until the 1960s did it reappear in schoolbooks.

In America, about 15% of high school teachers teach both evolution and creation. Close to 20% of high school science teachers and about 10,000 scientists (including more than 4,000 life scientists) reject both macroevolution and theistic evolution. Although the vast majority of Americans desire both creation and evolution taught in school, the evolutionary naturalism worldview dominates, revealing a major disparity between the population and the ruling elite.

Seperation of Church and State Hoax.

Liberal judges, ACLU lawyers, and liberal law professors have stolen the heritage of this nation. They have taken a clearly worded provision of the Constitution and twisted it to rob of us of the very underpinnings of our government and our society. They didn't do it through legislative acts, adopted by the duly elected representatives of the people. In fact, no words have changed in the First Amendment. The original words have been given radically different nonsensical meanings. Liberal judges have taken prayer out of our schools and manger scenes out of our town squares by blatant dishonesty. They have taken a constitutional provision that clearly limits Congress and only Congress and applied it to states, cities, counties and school districts.

Did you actually read the article at the link you gave?
Catholic churches were burned and Catholics were attacked because of a rumor that they wanted to get rid of the Bible in the schools. It was just a rumor started by an anti-Catholic group.
As far as the separation of church and state- there is separation because the government does not tell people what religion to be and it is not run by any particular religion.
That is a totally different thing I think from not allowing prayer in school or not allowing nativity scenes at courthouses or other things like that because some people have carried the idea too far which I think is stupid. Most of the people in this country are Christians, so if other people don't like the stuff they do they should just shut up about it because majority rules.

But still, there should not be one particular religion forcing their beliefs and practices on everyone. If that was the case then think what would happen if Muslims outnumber Christians someday in the U.S.(which could happen). Do you want to live under Sharia law? No, probably not. So, my idea of separation of church and state is that people should be allowed to practice any religion they want or not practice one at all, but we don't need an official state religion or radicals who decide what everyone else should believe.

You aren't getting what we're saying. It's not about what religion the president is as long as he doesn't let his religious beliefs decide how the government is run or push them on the country. So Kennedy was right when he talked about separation of church and state. People were afraid back then that the Pope or the Catholic church would be controlling him or telling him what to do and he said no, that wouldn't happen.
I think Santorum is just saying this stuff because he's trying to play to the fundamentalist evangelicals. He's twisting around the meaning of separation of church and state to make himself look like a defender of Christianity. It must have worked in Miss and Alabama but it could be a tactical error on his part in the long run because Evangelicals don't like Catholics much as you can see by comments here on glp that are made all the time. They don't want a Catholic who they think might take orders from Rome. So by denying that religion and politics should be kept separate he may be getting some people upset.
