Re: BEWARE OF THE ANGRY WATCHMAN!
Beware of the Angry Watchmen

There is a false revival on the rise. It is the rise of the angry watchman who will cast stones at those who have gone astray from the Lord. This false revival consists of ministers who have led people away from the truth through legalism and a misguided prosperity gospel. They will forbid and command prodigals not to come into the presence of God until you work your way back into His favor through human effort and religion. We must not remove the veil from the Bride of Christ. Only the Bridegroom has the right and righteousness to remove the veil of His Betrothed, The Bride of Christ! Woe to him who would presume upon his own deceptions of self-righteousness to be worthy to remove the veil! We have a righteousness that cannot be taken away from us because Jesus is our veil.

Carter Conlon, one of the preaching pastors at Times Square Church founded by David Wilkerson, preached this message at TSC on 10-28-07. He relates a dream he had that disturbed him greatly from which he drew this powerful message, in which he foretells of the emergence of yet another false prophetic movement that will emerge in the last days that will be driven by a company of false prophets who believe and proclaim that they have been appointed by God to berate, castigate, judge, and condemn the precious Bride of Christ for whom Christ died to purchase her for His own eternal possession with His precious shed blood!

Pastor Conlon prophesies about a time in the last days when many spiritual prodigals are going to suddenly begin to realize they have been duped into becoming a part of the false movements that exist in this hour which have drawn many believers away from their first love to follow after false self-aggrandizing prophets building their own personal kingdoms. They will be preaching legalism, relgious works, and condemnation, telling the prodigals they cannot come back to God because they are so unclean and spiritually defiled that God will not receive them back. It will be a false revival, what the Apostle Paul called a departure from the faith, apostasy. (more…)

Yes indeed. I have sensed these angry watchmen know their time is short and are therefore they go (no lies barred) out to deceive those that they can. It's all about snatching up lost souls for these. The more they deceive and snatch up souls the more the reward from their master. But woe unto these.. Their master too will go to his own destruction.

Revelation 20

The Thousand Years

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit[a] and a heavy chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon—that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years. 3 The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he must be released for a little while.
4 Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

Your words reveal what is in your heart and in your mind.

Matthew 12:33-37
New Living Translation (NLT)
33 “A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. 34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. 36 And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. 37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

Yes! Amen!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11789252

So me reminding somebody that they are breaking one of the Commandments just like the Word tells us to is bad fruit ??? You speak nonsense . And let me show you the rest of that chapter .

Luke 6:43-49

[43] "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. [44] Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. [45] The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

[46] "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? [47] I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. [48] He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. [49] But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

So why do you not do what the Lord says ??? I take it you do not keep the Commandments/Law . Why have you built your house without a foundation ?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7409491

You quote all these scriptures but do they come from your heart?
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”

27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’[h] and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’”

28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed,[j] he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”

37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

LOVE IS THE KEY. GOD IS LOVE.

All this "Does it come from your heart" ? malarkey is just more false Pauline doctrine . Really , when I hear Christians talking like that , I just despair . Will you ever get real and start following the Messiah instead of that awful gobshite Paul . That heart rubbish is found nowhere else in the Bible but in Paul's letters . It is not Biblical and is just an excuse to not be obedient to the Messiahs will . You have all been fooled .

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5615806

I find it very interesting that the gospels record Jesus specifically calling for men to come to Him. To follow him. Who followed him? Who did not come to him?

I have little trouble imagining that the legalists and religionists of that time saw such a thing as utter blashphemy. As an abomination; "How can a man call for men to follow him, we have no law given by Moses by which we are to follow this man. He hangs around with sinners and he does not keep the sabbaths. He shows himself to be a blasphemer. He teaches things different than those given to Moses. He looks to change the laws in his teachings."

I find it interesting that scripture records how they were always looking for ways to bring accusation against The Christ. Why? What did he do that was wrong? It was certainly different than they were used to. But who could find fault in his teachings? It was better and more pure. A higher way still than that of the law of Moses.

Now these were men who were fastidious in keeping the commandments of Moses. Blameless, according to the law of Moses. The religious leaders and men in high places of things pertaining to the law. And yet, they could not see or hear The truth that The Christ was bringing to them. Even as he stood in the midst of them teaching. They could not understand how the law of Moses did not have the power of the words of this man nor did it do the miracles that this man did. And so they thought he was a devil.

Now they did everything instructed by the law of Moses. According to the letter of the law. So what did they lack? Surely God wrote the same laws in their hearts as well? But they could not come to The Christ. Why?

Now I imagine how difficult it would have been for people living in that time to follow Christ and not be considered outcasts in a highly religious community. Even fearing their lives for following one so unfavorably looked upon in the "religious community". We see even many of the elders and leaders in the synogogue believed on him but were to afraid to speak or to act because of what men might think.

Yet, some gladly followed Christ. Not because of who they were or what good they were at following the commandments of God. Those people held seats in the synogogues. No, most of them who followed The Christ were looked down upon in the eyes of the religious community.

Sinners in the eyes of the elders... Unclean... Men who had failed to keep the commandments of Moses.

But these others who followed the Christ, seemed to know that they knew they were sinners. They knew they were looked upon unfavorable in the eyes of the law.

Rather, these others followed Jesus because of how He was/is and how He showed them what was written in their heart. He opened up the spiritual laws and demonstrated the higher laws and the weightier laws and, for that, they gladly followed after his ways and that law written in their hearts. That law which lead them to The Christ and his teaching and our from their bondage.

And He encouraged them to continue in his ways. He gave them forgiveness and hope and grace and mercy and love and peace and comfort and truth and assurance. He demonstrated the spiritual laws written in the hearts of men.

And He continues to encourage today and to give these things today. He continues to call people to follow Him.

IMHO.

God Bless.

peace,

Do you really think that God's laws were written on the hearts of those who didn't follow Jesus?

The true followers listen to no one but the Master Teacher.

John 10

He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

7Therefore Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.a He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

11“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

All of Jesus followers are freemen and freewomen. They are born of free spirit, and they can never go back to following anyone else once Christ has set them free.

They are called names for this, like apostates and heretics, because they have seperated themselves from all the deceivers who had them in chains.

You were born free, a child of GOD, and yet you forgot and followed other gods. That is why you have been held in confusion for so long. Because it was set up that way by the thief who robs and steals your hearts.

Hey! Again we seem to agree on all points.

The third question was asked because you seemed to imply that God's law was written on people's hearts yet they ignored it.

Humble opinion: as you state:Faith is a gift - As is God writing His laws on your heart - as is your willingness to adhere to what was written-

Ergo- salvation is also a gift.

On a related note:

- in scripture we see non-followers of Christ dismissing anything that did not adhere to their diligent and long standing interpretation of scripture.

It seems that we can see the same thing today -

And that, at the very least, should cause one to pause...

(Point: Scripture rules! But we should be very very careful not to HARSHLY judge someone's interpretation- )

Recent examples: This thread - and other thread debating Jesus as God or son of God.

Anyway- just sharing some humble opinions tonight.

I agree. We do see the same things today. There is nothing new under the sun.

You are right, it is wise to pause... Let us all be quick to hear and slow to speak, slow to wrath.

I am all for people sharing their views. Whatever they may be. No one of us has the complete picture.

Each of us shares water from our well and the other takes a sip. If it agrees with us we might ask for more. If it does not we might spit it out. But it might be insulting to spit it in their face. lol...

But perhaps that is the subtle difference between judgement and discernment. Discernment says, "thanks for the drink, let me offer you this to sip on." Or; "Thanks for the drink, I must be going now" and judgement just spits it in their face... lol...

Or perhaps we could discuss the difference between judgement vs discernment. How do you feel they differ?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I always enjoy speaking with you.

The difference between judgment and discernment is usually evident in the words chosen to respond ( the fruit)

God Bless.

Few would argue, we are living in perilous times... Just as scripture says.

Faith, hope and love seem to be the strongest weapons in the arsenal... Just as scripture says.

 Quoting: eleyna2012

JOHN 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Now this is the testimony of John, when the jewish people sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”

And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?”

He said, “I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”

And he answered, “No.”

Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”

He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
“Make straight the way of the Lord,”’

as the prophet Isaiah said.”

Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees. And they asked him, saying, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”

These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”

And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”

The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?”

They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).

The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.” Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

Re: BEWARE OF THE ANGRY WATCHMAN!

Re: BEWARE OF THE ANGRY WATCHMAN!

We see there are also many shades. Some say and do things out of innocence. Some say and do things because they are truly convinced and convicted in their own mind. Be they true or false.

Is all evil? I don't think so.
Are there those that are evil? I think so.

But in my brief experience, not all is black and white as we (I) might wish it to be.

IIRC, You and I both have some technical backgrounds. If so, there is likely a comfort we share in science and maths and engineering. Mostly because there is less gray to deal with. Logic is neat and tidy.

Is God grey? I do not think so. I think God defines order and logic. But It is my understanding of God which is grey and shadowy. Not because of what He is, rather because of what I am. Sin creates in man chaos and disorder and ill logic. I am tainted goods and cannot see the perfect order which is God.

Take your very thoughtful link for example.

Clearly there is much time and diligence and research given to present what the research has concluded.

I hope the timing is correct. I hope it is proven to be to conservative and He comes quicker. :)

But If it proves to be correct. Praise God! He comes quickly!

But If it proves to be incorrect. Praise God! We have a chance to review and refine our theory and to further seek out what He has concealed. - Proverbs 25:2

Either way, Is it evil for a man to be wrong? Is it important for a man to be right?

To men, it matters. But to God.... I suspect to God it likely matters little...

I must admit. I learn more when I am wrong than when I am right. But and if my being right were a condition for anything. I would be doomed.

A couple of points in response:

Is it evil to accuse another of being Antichrist, man of lawlessness, the mouth of the beast?

It seems so.

Second- the diligence and research occurred in less than 4 months- adding to the mystery (at least in this household)

Pray for our president-

And,

Lord Jesus please have mercy if the assessment is wrong.

Scripture defines these things for us. You and I did not author or record scripture or those things which are given for all to read and comprehend and discern.

Is it evil for us to make false accusations? Of course. What should I say; I have and do and likely will make false accusations until the end. Just the other day I flew off the handle with my wife and, in the moment, falsely accused her over some silly thing. I felt terrible. But the outcome was beneficial.

She had an opportunity to show her deep love and forgiveness. And, while I failed, she passed with flying colors... And I had an opportunity to learn more about humility and being 'quick to hear and slow to speak and slow to wrath'. So a sin (for me) was a lesson in life.

Not quite the same as another accusation. But we are told God is no respecter of persons, no matter their position in this life.

But seriously. I do not make light of it. You know well that we still have within ourselves the old nature. The old creature lingers within. I believe Christ knew this and He instructs us to forgive each other for the wrongs we commit against another. Whether in word or deed. Our hearts or our actions.

You know and I know The LORD is MOST merciful. I suspect well beyond what you and I consider mercy.

As touching prayer for worldly authorities; I will do this more than I have of late. As we are exhorted;

"...I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty..." - 1 Tim 2:1-3

I trust Gods will IS done. On earth and in Heaven. Always.

IMHO.
