Will you ever get real and start following the Messiah instead of that awful gobshite Paul . That heart rubbish is found nowhere else in the Bible but in Paul's letters . It is not Biblical and is just an excuse to not be obedient to the Messiahs will . You have all been fooled .

All of Jesus followers are freemen and freewomen. They are born of free spirit, and they can never go back to following anyone else once Christ has set them free.

They are called names for this, like apostates and heretics, because they have seperated themselves from all the deceivers who had them in chains.

You were born free, a child of GOD, and yet you forgot and followed other gods. That is why you have been held in confusion for so long. Because it was set up that way by the thief who robs and steals your hearts.

Hey! Again we seem to agree on all points.

The third question was asked because you seemed to imply that God's law was written on people's hearts yet they ignored it.

Humble opinion: as you state:Faith is a gift - As is God writing His laws on your heart - as is your willingness to adhere to what was written-

Ergo- salvation is also a gift.

On a related note:

- in scripture we see non-followers of Christ dismissing anything that did not adhere to their diligent and long standing interpretation of scripture.

It seems that we can see the same thing today -

And that, at the very least, should cause one to pause...

(Point: Scripture rules! But we should be very very careful not to HARSHLY judge someone's interpretation- ) 

Recent examples: This thread - and other thread debating Jesus as God or son of God.

Anyway- just sharing some humble opinions tonight.

I agree. We do see the same things today. There is nothing new under the sun.

You are right, it is wise to pause... Let us all be quick to hear and slow to speak, slow to wrath.

I am all for people sharing their views. Whatever they may be. No one of us has the complete picture.

Each of us shares water from our well and the other takes a sip. If it agrees with us we might ask for more. If it does not we might spit it out. But it might be insulting to spit it in their face. lol...

But perhaps that is the subtle difference between judgement and discernment. Discernment says, "thanks for the drink, let me offer you this to sip on." Or; "Thanks for the drink, I must be going now" and judgement just spits it in their face... lol...

Or perhaps we could discuss the difference between judgement vs discernment. How do you feel they differ?

Its a tough one for me.

I imagine the deceiver uses some smooth words by the end is death.

While another might speak roughly and it is an ointment that heals.

A stumbling block is not going to have a sign on it which reads "I AM A STUMBLING BLOCK"

JOHN 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.


Now this is the testimony of John, when the jewish people sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”

And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?”

He said, “I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”

And he answered, “No.”

Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”

He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
“Make straight the way of the Lord,”’

as the prophet Isaiah said.”

Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees. And they asked him, saying, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”

These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.


The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”

And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”


Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”

The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?”

They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).


The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.” Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

It's a tough one for all of us.

Humble opinion: It came from the good graces of The Holy Spirit.

We see there are also many shades. Some say and do things out of innocence. Some say and do things because they are truly convinced and convicted in their own mind. Be they true or false.

Is all evil? I don't think so.
Are there those that are evil? I think so.

But in my brief experience, not all is black and white as we (I) might wish it to be.

IIRC, You and I both have some technical backgrounds. If so, there is likely a comfort we share in science and maths and engineering. Mostly because there is less gray to deal with. Logic is neat and tidy.

Is God grey? I do not think so. I think God defines order and logic. But It is my understanding of God which is grey and shadowy. Not because of what He is, rather because of what I am. Sin creates in man chaos and disorder and ill logic. I am tainted goods and cannot see the perfect order which is God.

Take your very thoughtful link for example.

Clearly there is much time and diligence and research given to present what the research has concluded.

I hope the timing is correct. I hope it is proven to be to conservative and He comes quicker. :)

But If it proves to be correct. Praise God! He comes quickly!

But If it proves to be incorrect. Praise God! We have a chance to review and refine our theory and to further seek out what He has concealed. - Proverbs 25:2

Either way, Is it evil for a man to be wrong? Is it important for a man to be right?

To men, it matters. But to God.... I suspect to God it likely matters little...

I must admit. I learn more when I am wrong than when I am right. But and if my being right were a condition for anything. I would be doomed.

A couple of points in response:

Is it evil to accuse another of being Antichrist, man of lawlessness, the mouth of the beast?

It seems so.

Second- the diligence and research occurred in less than 4 months- adding to the mystery (at least in this household)

Pray for our president-

Lord Jesus please have mercy if the assessment is wrong.

Scripture defines these things for us. You and I did not author or record scripture or those things which are given for all to read and comprehend and discern.

Is it evil for us to make false accusations? Of course. What should I say; I have and do and likely will make false accusations until the end. Just the other day I flew off the handle with my wife and, in the moment, falsely accused her over some silly thing. I felt terrible. But the outcome was beneficial.

She had an opportunity to show her deep love and forgiveness. And, while I failed, she passed with flying colors... And I had an opportunity to learn more about humility and being 'quick to hear and slow to speak and slow to wrath'. So a sin (for me) was a lesson in life.

Not quite the same as another accusation. But we are told God is no respecter of persons, no matter their position in this life.

But seriously. I do not make light of it. You know well that we still have within ourselves the old nature. The old creature lingers within. I believe Christ knew this and He instructs us to forgive each other for the wrongs we commit against another. Whether in word or deed. Our hearts or our actions.

You know and I know The LORD is MOST merciful. I suspect well beyond what you and I consider mercy.

As touching prayer for worldly authorities; I will do this more than I have of late. As we are exhorted;

"...I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty..." - 1 Tim 2:1-3

I trust Gods will IS done. On earth and in Heaven. Always.
