Indigos, Starseeds, and my longing to find a Kindred Spirit ^_^
Hello, my loves. I write today about the part of me that longs for a soul that I can relate to. A spirit who shares the same curiosity, wonder, and love as me. Someone who vibrates at the same frequency as I do, lol.

My life has been a lonely one. Filled with feelings of not belonging and not knowing how to fit in. I've had many wonderful friends over the years, but none who I felt could relate to me at a soul level. Maybe there isn't anyone who can? I don't know. If they're out there, I haven't met them personally. Which I really would love for that to happen!!!

So, through a series of related events, I started researching Indigos and Starseeds again. And, as I started reading through the 'traits', I found that I could relate to 95% of what was listed about these beings. Part of me wanted to dismiss it as craziness, or as lost souls seeking for something that would make them feel special. But, as I pondered and read more and more about them, and other people's experiences, I've come to the conclusion that there is a very big possibility that these souls exist. And I might be one of them. If I'm not, it doesn't really matter, because I know that we are all One, so I'm content with being whatever I am. But, it's nice to find a group that I can relate so deeply to.

Here are some of the traits that describe me so perfectly:

* Always need to know WHY, especially why they are being asked to do something.

* Had disgust and perhaps loathing for much of the required and repetitious work in school.

* May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness. These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult.

* Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigo's resist authority and caste system of employment.

* Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.

* May have trouble with RAGE.

* Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective, ie. political, educational, medical, and legal.

* Have an inner awareness that what is being taught in churches and schools is NOT accurate and know there are hidden agendas around the lies that are being accepted by the masses as "Truth." This is extremely frustrating but inspires them to uncover the cover-ups and expose The Real Truth!~ Have a strong sense of truth, ethics, justice and freedom. (That is why "authority figures" many times irritate and frustrate them). When these are in jeopardy, will give their "all" for their cause, and many times feel they would rather die than give-in to tyranny and deception.

* Have an affinity to Knights, Castles, and Dragons.

* Many times get along better with animals and nature than people.

* Have a bond/connection to the trees, and nature in general.

* Can relate well to children and or the elderly

* Involve themselves in human/animal rights efforts.

* Have an innate sense of "oneness" and connectedness to all of creation. Get confused and disturbed when others donít share their reality of "at-one-ment."

* High capacity for love, and therefore others may feel uncomfortable by their intensity.

* Very sensitive, sometimes "Hyper Sensitive" and may not be able to distinguish between the emotional fields of those around them and their own personal emotions.

* May go through periods of apathy and cynicism as coping mechanisms.

* Intense longing for "their own kind"·.Soul Mates·but donít know where to look.

So, yep, it's like reading a page out of my own journal. :) I know that these traits are posted on random websites, presented as research and facts, and I know that a lot of people would say that these could be attributed to anybody. But, if somebody can completely relate to all of those, then I haven't come across them in real life. Only on the web, and I haven't found that many online, really.

Selfishness and delusions of grandeur are some of the things that I've seen these groups get accused of. Also, people seem accuse these groups of feeling like they're more special than everyone else and need a way to show it. Ah well, there's no getting past people who aren't open to these things, so I just laugh and move along without a care, still searching for the ones who understand.

I've personally learned not to judge anyone. There are millions of people on this tiny planet, with millions of points of views, and everyone thinks that their way is the right way and they think that everyone who opposes their view is wrong. Lol, whatever. I'm always changing my views and trying to grow in knowledge and wisdom. I never get bogged down with one mindset, because it doesn't seem like a very productive way to be. But each to his own, I don't care. ^_^ It's the way of this life.

If I had things my way, there would be no meaness or hate in this world. Everyone would love each other as themselves, and help eachother out. The days would be filled with laughter, love, music, and adventure. Everyone would live in tune with nature, and use their creativeness for the betterment of all. There would be no jealousy or competition, just oneness and equality. I've always felt like this is how the world should be. Unfortunately, it ain't. But I understand why it has to be this way right now, and I'm just patiently waiting for whatever happens. Just trying to show love to everyone while I'm here, and maybe give them a small glimpse of my world. :)

Anyway, yeah, so as happy as I am in my life right now, it would be so wonderful to have a kindred spirit to share it with. We could go hiking, go to the park and swing, go get some coffee and conversate, or just lay out under the stars and sing songs into the night.

If I might ask, how do these particular "traits" co-exist? To be more specific, how can one have an affinity to Knights and Castles, which are both high representations of broken systems and an authorative caste, while having an aversion to broken systems and authorative castes?

I'm not meaning to be disrespectful, merely curious.

Yep all those apply to me. Never met another one either...

Maybe if we just left the system we would meet others, because if I feel that way so strongly perhaps others like me already succumbed to that desire.

Yes, I'm an Indigo, probably, and I turn 68 this summer. Have known a few kindred spirits though the years in a variety of states and places. Northern California, especially along the coast, is one place with lots of kindred spirits. The Santa Cruz area kind of has an Indigo culture, which is weird when it intersects with Silicon Valley culture. I participated in both and so did many of my friends.

Wherever you are, if you can find a Druid group or shamanic drumming circle through meetups or wherever, you're more apt to find kindred spirits than elsewhere. And hopefully you have a favorite metaphysical bookstore within an hour or so. They usually advertise events with people you might relate to.

No, omgosh, that's a great question, lol. You made me think. :) Maybe it's the whole fatasy thing that we/they are attracted to?

To personally relate it to me, I would put... Have an affinity to Fairies, Fantasy Realms, and Unicorns, hehe.

Maybe they wrote that for boys? Or not. :) Legends and myths have always attracted me, also, like Merlin and King Arthur, but yeah, you're right. I really could care less for the truth about it all. I'd rather the knights and the dragons played Scrabble together, instead of trying to fight each other. ^_^

I know what you mean. I've always wanted to join a community of people like me where we could all live in a certain place, and have community meals, and grow our own food, and help build everything, and... yeah. Kind of like those cults you hear about, but minus the worship of a leader or a deity. Just people loving and helpin each other out, ya know.

God, I live in a fantasy world! :D And I love it!!!

Hi, nice to meet you! :) It's great to know that you could find some people who share your spirit. Yes, Northern Cali has always attracted me. For their free spirit vibes and the beautiful, giant forests.

I live in Georgia, so I'm surrounded by Christianity, and they pretty much see the way that I think as satanic and deceitful. I've had so many people try to witness to me, lol. But I understand, cause I used to be in their shoes, so no worries. It's just not a hotspot for free thinking.

But, that's a great idea! There is a local metaphysical store that I love. I should definitely check out the pinboard. Don't know why I've never thought of that. A drum circle would be freakin awesome! Thanks!!!

Totally OP, and not some commie hippy thing either, for some reason any kind of organized system bothers me. When you look up groups like that there are a lot of hippy ones, kind of a turn off even though I agree with the preserving of the environment.

Northern Cali has been calling to me. Sometimes I want to just pack a backpack, drive up there, and leave everything behind, even the car

I dont believe the system of having one to blame is corrupt or broken, yet the democratic one where the select few vote the others pout of freedom and eventually existence is the broken system.

To hold one king, one caste accountable, no more lies, no more bullshit he said she said, they did, he voted that, divide and conquer mentality.

A system where there are ones to look up to in good and bad times, ones to strive to be as, not like the poisoned tree idols of this day and nation.

Wow, yeah, I totally feel ya! And I definitely understand the feeling of packing up and getting the hell out of here, leaving everything behind, even the car.

I actually did that when I was 20. Packed up and left Colorado, lived in my car for a week, and found some people to stay with for 9 months in Bremerton, WA. It was the greatest thing I've ever done! Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be, and I ended up back with my family in Georgia, and then married. But, I still feel like running away, everyday, though. :) And, who knows what the future holds?

Im just asking out of curiosity ... im not judging in any way.
Im not looking for anything myself right at this moment other then world peace, health & happiness for all who deserve it.

But I also noticed that you never stated a preferred age? or stated what your sign is? or if you have any children or not?

usually someone looking for a connection/partner would state these things (well i mean just the basics)
obviously you wouldnt get to in depth on a public forum.

the castle and dragon intrigue if one tends to their inner Spiritual homework will most always be untangled to comprehend nonmonetary Spiritual castles and amazing gentle dragons in another more peaceful nonmonetary Spiritual realm of the gentle Spirit spark of creation.

the people grouping up and living together notions while existing in flesh vessels in the monetary realm is always usually going to lean towards a cult of some sort with a person of leading the masses into deception and chaos. that is simply the way of the physical monetary world.

healthiest could possibly be to simply tend to your own unique inner Spiritual homework and continue on you Spiritual journey as best as you can in the physical lands of confusion and distorton because if you have truly been seeking gentle ways of nonmonetary Spiritually then the outer forces will send and place physical people all around you with carefully crafted lies and their true motive will simply be to derail you from your Spiritual journey whether they realize it or not.

gently choosing Spiritual solitude to seek Spiritual journey in physical lands of chaos and confusion will be what some accuse of being selfish ways however to truly seek gently nonmonetary Spiritually you will simply reject their aggressive notions and instead feel compassion for them in their tangled monetary world of seeking outside completeness in people places and things.

i was born an orphaned bastard gypsy with natural
hermit inclinations.
hence, i've kicked around a lot, and been kicked around
a lot more than that.
it took a half century to figure out things for myself.
birth karma sucked but i am grateful because being born
outside society and the system gave me the chance to think
for myself, survival depended on independent thought and
forming my picture of the grand scheme.
pain forced me to focus on the issue with intensity. while
others were in the game of life, [earning wages, paying
bills and taxes, marriage, abiding by concepts of god, honor, nationalism, . .raising kids to be same] i followed
different trails. soon as i was given the liberty of honorable discharge from armed services during time of draft, with eight dollars to my name and pocket, i stuck out my thumb and went where ever the rides would take me.
i discovered a country of citizens wonderful in generosity,
kind and caring. by their blessings i survived an entire
summer on their heart given hospitality.
after four years of military i was pretty jaded, and felt
dead in my soul, but that summer brought me back to life.
it changed my life.
i feel once we start looking past prejudices and stereotypes, all caused by fear and lack of knowledge, we will find we are all blessed children of the same divine
impulse.
it is the only message i felt inclined spreading at any
opportunity i am afforded, . .especially here on glp.
behind the differences we are all the same.
each and everyone of us seeking love and divine intimacy
with the one, the all.
peace, joy

There are many, it seems that have come here from higher spheres, choosing enthusiastically to share in the conditions here in order to raise them to a higher state. Love is sacrifice

Wherever all of you are, you are connected, never alone. Its an illusion only the dull basic senses perpetuate.

Your influence is now growing. The balance of conditions are shifting towards the Light even as the dark ones make their defiant last stand. Keep spreading your ideas, your Love, your thoughts to the people of a world searching desperately for the inspiration their souls are urging them to seek for. Leave these impressions in the ethers, that those ready to change may receive them.

Agree.

Totally agree.

* May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness. These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult.
Definately, all of the above.

* Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigo's resist authority and caste system of employment.
Absolutely agree.

* Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.
Haha! So, so true.

* May have trouble with RAGE.
Not too often, thanks to yoga, but used to be a bigger problem for me.

* Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective, ie. political, educational, medical, and legal.
Absolutely agree! Despise it all!

All my life, I was doubting and questioning, and my instincts often suggested a rather contrary perspective.

* Have an affinity to Knights, Castles, and Dragons.
I wouldn't say knights, but definately warriors, castles, dragons and the Otherworld.

* Many times get along better with animals and nature than people.
All my life.

* Have a bond/connection to the trees, and nature in general.
This is so true. Oak trees, in particular, as well as birch.

* Can relate well to children and or the elderly
More so than with adults, for sure.

* Involve themselves in human/animal rights efforts.
Not so much the rights movements, other than passively, but I'm a healer, and direct my efforts to humans and animals, particularly cats, dogs and horses.

* Have an innate sense of "oneness" and connectedness to all of creation. Get confused and disturbed when others donít share their reality of "at-one-ment."
All my life.

* High capacity for love, and therefore others may feel uncomfortable by their intensity.
I've learned to reign this in, but it used to apply moreso when I was younger and more trusting.

* Very sensitive, sometimes "Hyper Sensitive" and may not be able to distinguish between the emotional fields of those around them and their own personal emotions.
True! While studying massage therapy, I finally came to understand this and how to recognize when emotions were my own or belonging to others. Very cool, to say the least. It's almost like being able to read someone's mind, bc if you know their emotions, you can more or less guess their intentions.

* May go through periods of apathy and cynicism as coping mechanisms.
Hahaha! Definately!

* Intense longing for "their own kind"·.Soul Mates·but donít know where to look.
I know where to look, I think, but I don't know how to go there...but I seriously relate to this.

 Quoting: CuriousSoul

The title of your thread stuck out to me, in a rather different way than others of similar subject matter.
Just reading through the list of traits you posted, I have to admit, I relate to all of the above. And I understand how you must feel. It took me a long time to figure out much of this for myself, and although it feels so strange to know I don't belong here, I'm glad to know. Truth is so much better than ignorance, imo. I hope you find what you are looking for! I have already come to accept that the one I hope to find, cannot be found in this lifetime, nor on this planet. One day...I may have figured out how, but I'll have to wait and see.

 Quoting: CuriousSoul

Okay, so it's less literal and historical than mythical. The ideal rather than the reality, Arthurian legend rather than the Middle Ages. Got it. Unfortunate how only in our best fantasies have we been able to actually find, or even create, those just and fair worlds.

I can relate whole-heartedly to that then. I've always been a huge fan of Mythos, especially Greek and Arthurian.

Thank you for the response. I hope you find what you're looking for. It's a good prize.

PS. And I actually five-starred this post, which believe me, is a rarity for me. Take care.

Re: Indigos, Starseeds, and my longing to find a Kindred Spirit ^_^

Thanks!!!

You know, if you can find a nice yoga center, you might find yourself surrounded by like or open-minded individuals. Drum circles are a lot of fun, also! The raw energy is just amazing!!!! There's no way to explain it. It just has to be experienced!

* Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigo's resist authority and caste system of employment.

* Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective, ie. political, educational, medical, and legal.

* Have an affinity to Knights, Castles, and Dragons.

Give me a king over a ever changing crook any day of the week.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1838443

You may not believe it is corrupt or broken, but look back historically at what you desire and try to find very many that weren't counter to the good of everyone, no matter their station. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and it is easily turned into tyranny when that power rests forever in one hand. In that case, there is less looking up to a leader than there is being forced to humbly look down and not soil them with your gaze.

It appears though that what you actually want is just to be oppressed by the same constant will for life as at least you would know what to expect. That attitude is a disheartening way to live.

If you want to project a case for christianity being truth, I think you've come to the wrong thread. I sought the Truth, and found the truth to be that christianity is a mind-control system of lies, and that truth really did set me free!

blobr

the only thing from your list I can't agree to is:

* Always need to know WHY, especially why they are being asked to do something

somehow I say yes to everything :D
well unless I can see its wrong, ofcourse, but if I can't see anything moraly wrong, I don't ask that many questions tbh, im just happy to help, borderline stupid/exploitable I know haha

I have every single one of those traits - but I already knew I was StarSeed ^^ hf

Most of us experience extreme loneliness here on earth, as deep down inside we know that this is not our home nor are these our people - hold on to hope, dear one, our work here is very nearly complete. hugs

A lot of people who love knights, castles, dragons, fantasty, etc. do so because of the code of chivalry and honor that is so often touted as part of the whole thing. That code of honor, that sense of chivalry and the underlying [erroneous] teachings about truth, justice, questing for love... all come together to create a picture of what people often wish for in the world.

Yes, it is a representation of a very cruel and barbaric system, but that's not how it's portrayed to modern people.
