What could he possibly gain of true value from that that makes it worthwhile?

Creates the affect and attention that we already see has been occurring

while inferring that the Obutt admin is the culprit

protecting AB and any and all other involved (wouldbe too risky to 'whack' any of them right now and get away with it)

catches the WH off guard (off guard equals vulnerable) - can you hear the conversations? Hillary - 'Did you call the hit BO?" Barry - "Ah hell nah! I thought you did?"

Meanwhile he gives up his life, his family, his kids, his friends, his associates and must hide in a house in the desert somewhere for the rst of his life, never to do what he loves again or have ANY contact.

this were the case, I would assume the charade would only be temporary until the end result is achieved - that being, those that would wish him harm are neutralized.
