Also, the US might have some control of the voting mechanism in Russia. RUSSIA IS HAVING ELECTIONS RIGHT NOW. Putin will do anything to avoid losing in "surprise upset" that could be caused by some sort of US manipulation. Russia recently had some other elections, and there were suspicions that Putin's party, United Russia, didn't do as well as expected -- why?
