Some families can produce cloth, some grow food, some tin smiths, gold smiths, bsnking, transport etc. But for true success, these occupational duties must be performed in an atmosphere of God consciousness, ie. glorifying the Supreme Lord and His Representative, the Spiritual Master, by chanting their names, glories and glorious pastimes. You are right, though, the Vedas state that all human beings have to engage in sacrifice daily to counter the reactions to unknown sins. those unknown killings of living entities take place in five main areas: drinking or eating, lighting a fire, walking, grinding spices or sweeping. Panca suno is the process for sacrificial purification; since we are killing literally millions and billions of microbes and other small insects etc in our daily lives.
