Sorry, preparing for 6 months off the grid is basically impossible if you're starting from apartment living in a city.

Find a place in the country with clean water, and survive on grass and what else you can forage. That may be possible. But gathering supplies and planning to move them with you, that's unrealistic.

Besides, I don't sense things being more doomy than say six months ago. Continued excitement and weird stuff happening, but not obviously more doomy.
