Preparing a summary of everything I posted here, and at another forum for use as well.. I really want to post it all now, the temptation is irresistible, but I know I must wait for the next series of events to begin before I do, no one can then deny what they see happening all around them, and it will be easy to see what is coming next. I have no reason to expect that I can change anything, or that posting here will make any difference, but when I am done here I can have my own closure when I leave to be with my family. I will find some comfort in knowing that some of you will know what to do, and I can live with that... Enjoy the calm before the storm. It's going to be a bad one... Well all you have done and all you have said is well appreciated. I have a neighbor of 30 years down the road. I talk to him often. His son was in the hardcore military and is now in the Federal government. When I asked him how his son was doing last week, he said, "Good, but I don't see him much. Every times he gets back the place he left has a new government". The son does not say much, but he told my neighbor, "Dad, if you had any idea what the government has in mind for you people, you would slit your own throats right now." If there is ANY truth to this, and I believe there is, what hope do we have anyway. And on a more sober note, if our own government has gotten THAT evil, well then, we deserve whatever it is that comes our way. At least it will be possible to save our souls. Now that's scary!!! Does this neighbor seems like he's preparing, stocking food, Etc.?... If so, that's a good sign to get busy and follow suit!  We are rural throwbacks out here. Hunters who always have stored necessities where power outages are frequent and sometime a week long. Wood heated homes, long driveways on multi-acre parcels. It sounds strange, but it was a natural choice for those of us that enjoyed the simplicity of camping, hiking and most woodland outdoor activities. So in a way, yes, but it was always our type of daily life anyway. It is nothing like the BS TV types, it is just the way were are and always were. Yep! ... Country Boy Can Survive!... In the country you start seeing pick ups with firewood in August... it's a way of life for most in rural America, and most likely that's where the hoards are gonna head after they loot the cities IF anything does go down, but, they are gonna run into people that are used to a "harder" life and know how to survive ... Mainly hunters that would not hesitate to defend theirs!!!  |

Folks like myself and the neighbors I know are just very happy and thankful for the peace and tranquility that a simplistic lifestyle brings us. We keep the electricity use low along with the lighting, we have computers but not much else technology, and we have chainsaws and log splitters. There is a great reward to be able to have a great deal of self sufficiency that stems back to my youth in the service and camping days. There are probably many millions of Americans just like us around the country, I have met some in my day. They are the backbone of the Nation. |

Thanks for giving me something to look forward to Gomez, I appreciate that. When I was young and started working I was told that I had to do all the shit work, 'cause I was the kid, but that some day I would be the seasoned veteran and I would be taking it easy while the "kids" of the future did what I did then. Well it never happened. Year after year I got the "I can't do THAT. I don't know how the do THAT". So I continued on doing the work because the job had to get done. The "kids" never showed up. I think that this is a microcosim of how the US has worked over the last 30 years, the kids never showed up did they? Of course the greedy old bastards only got greedier and never gave them a future, did they? |
