How can any of you defend that 16 year old punk? He knew better. If the kid was 14 I'd say 30 years in jail. For all intents and purposes that 16 year old is an adult when it comes to a fight. The fight occurred in the man's back yard. If I was that kid's father and saw my son getting beat down by anyone at that age I would've done the same or worse. Some of you obviously don't have kids.

The dad is obviously a punk. He REFEREED a fight between his son and the other teen. His son lost and instead of taking it like a grown man he decided to have a chest-thumping contest with the 16 year old and then brutally beat him on the ground, ending it with a bitch kick to the face before the kid was even able to get up.

The Dad was fucking chimping out like a musclebound retard on a kid half his weight and size and that's the end of it. He shouldn't serve anywhere near 57 years but jail time goddamn right.

The kid is 16 and the guy is 35... Maybe the kid needed to get his ass kicked, but not by a 35 year old man.

The Dad is fucked up. Fought like a sissy on someone he obviously had more weight and experience. Even if the kid was a punk, after the first knock down he should have let it go. Maturity counts. I'd like to see him face off someone his own age and size wearing his wife beater t-shirt.

The kid beat up his son, and then CHALLENGED his dad. The dad told him to back down and he didn't. The dad proceeded to almost kill the kid. Fucked up situation all the way around. Still didn't deserve 10 years.

I did watch the video. The "dad" ought to be ashamed of himself! His son lost the fight, fair and square it would seem. The "dad" gets into a verbal exchange with the victor and proceeds to beat the hell out of him - including that awful kick to the face while he was down.

The bastard probably doesn't make enough in ten years to pay for the dental bills he caused that kid. Maybe he can be sentenced to pay for that bill by making license plates for the state at something under minimum wage? Although I doubt the judges have that much creativity...

You know, I can see stopping a fight if my kid was getting hurt - and I'd stop it if the OTHER kid was in danger of being seriously injured, too. But for this guy to start playing "billy joe bad-ass" on a sixteen year old kid's head and face is absurd. The man is a moron, obviously.
