No - I disagree. It is not 'German culture', but a form of entertainment being pushed heavily onto as many people as will tolerate it.

There have been gothic, or rather, horror-type stories all through history. The change, though, in time is in how horror is portrayed and how the storeis are used.

Creepy things were what the normal people avoided, and dreaded being around. Now - the creepy things are embraced and believed to be 'stylish' by the would-be promoters of this stuff. There is some great music videos out there, as some of the posts here are showing, but that first is really lame, B-type shock-value gore. Blech.

Vampire Goth is so mid '90's. That shit was already tired by the late '90's. Bands truly running out of original ideas these days, not just in Germany....

Damn... this one reminds me of a few late 80's songs/music videos.... Not bad... pretty cool but still a sense of deja vu here.
But I agree with whoever that mentioned that they're reusing old ideas... not just Germany.
