Two 4.0 Earthquaks hit San Fransisco Bay Area, California Just now. Seconds apart.

I live on the fault , and this was the most pronounced sharp jolt we have had in years. Unsettling to say the least. Woke my household.

No, not that I am aware of. But my cat came in meowing in my face about @0 minuets beforehand, but I ignored him and went back to sleep. It's hard to define these matters at 5am......

Right next to the Golden Gate Bridge. I would be checking the structural integrity of that bridge if I were maintenance.

Foreshocks, or just a little release?

It was first reported as a 4.3 but then brought down to a 4.0

Well I haven't seen an after so let's just wait and see. Now it's a waiting game for the aftershocks. If none pop up then you can say it's a foreshock.

It's not by the GG Bridge and it was not two.

It was one 4.0 in the East Bay.

I'm getting reports of a 5.1 Baja and a 5.2 Yukon territory, I just screen captured them

The way you tell is by waiting for the aftershocks, smaller and or larger quakes preceding the 4.0. If none appear then the longer we wait the more likely it is a foreshock.

They removed one of them, cause I'v seen both of them when I first went to USGS I just went back and one then is gone ????

we've been having small quakes along the Hayward fault on the west side of the Berkeley hills into the North Bay overthe past few months - none bigger than 4.3. Normal slippage/stress release, No biggie.

Epicenter was Tiburon Nature Preserve, not very far from Golden Gate Bridge.

It was not in Marin County.

I hope Florida isn't next, seeing that Cuba is south of us. I remember one hit in the gulf of mexico and we felt it here in the Tampa Bay area.
